Read Shop by The Merchant — Restaurant in Vinings

This shop is super adorable, quaint and located at Vinings Jubilee. Read Shop is a book store and coffee shop that is by The Merchant so you already know they have a nice selection of merchandise. You can find your NYT best seller books in here and also other quirky items including children's books and greeting cards. This unique shop is very cozy so seating is limited inside and outside.

They serve basic coffee drinks using Stumptown coffee, offer pastries and truffles. My ice vanilla latte wasn't the best coffee I've had and it had a bitter after taste. I was also looking forward to something sweet with my coffee but around noon there wasn't much to choose from and I wasn't in the mood for truffles.

I’ve never left a one star review until today. Usually enthusiastic to support independent small businesses and book shops in particular, I was really dismayed by the show of pretentiousness and rudeness by the male ‘barista’ on 8.05.23.

My wife and I arrived at 6:54 PM and immediately purchased a bag of coffee. I was perusing some books and settled on one ($100+ book, no less), only to be told by the said barista that “we have a HARD close at 7:00”. It was literally 7:00 and I was just about to purchase the book. Of course, I didn’t and we ran out the door as quickly as possible.

I hope the owner reads this and deals with this incredibly rude employee that others have noted. Until then, find another friendlier establishment who will treat you kindly when you spend...

Wow! The Read Shop is Incredible! If you are looking for Great Tasting Coffee and Friendly service this is the place to go! The kind folks here can make a bad day a Swell one. I always had a Delicious and Pretty pour on my latte, I never needed a remake but I know I'd be Well taken Care of with the Excellent customer service! I feel so at home here, even the customers are friendly, someone let me borrow her ConnectFour for a quick game, and there are Great Books all around to peruse or purchase.
