I recently went in search for a Mother of the Groom dress for a semi-formal cocktail wedding. Unfortunately, I was too late for processing a typical four-to-five month order. I needed to find a dress in the correct color, with features I wanted, and fit my many petite quirks off the rack. I found a beautiful dress that would work if altered. I decided that the dress being sleeveless could be overcome with many barbell sessions and a tan by the time I needed to wear the dress. I bought the dress and scheduled my fitting. On my scheduled alteration appointment, I enjoyed talking to a bride on her final fitting day. She was wearing a beautiful dress that fit her perfectly. I happened to mention liking the sleeves on her dress. She proceeded to tell me that much of the dress was restyled with parts of her train. The entire upper back and upper front portion, along with sleeves were added as part of the alteration process. Helena, the seamstress did an amazing job for that bride. The restyled dress was absolutely stunning and fit the young bride flawlessly. Enter Helena and my turn, she worked on tucking and lifting the various seams on my dress. I mentioned removing my bit of train and the possibility of using the removed portion for the creation of sleeves. I cannot speak highly enough for Helena's alteration abilities. With one scissor cut on train removal, she proceeded to create sleeves and pinned them to my dress. I was able to decide what length and style sleeve I preferred. This was done so quickly. All I can say; she was impressive. What a relief to have a beautiful dress with sleeves and not rely on my workout commitment. I am looking forward to wearing my dress, stress free. I will add photos...

Read moreI couldn’t say enough great things about What’s Up Europe. I had found my dream dress at another salon but it was way over my budget and I would still have to pay for alterations to add sleeves and other adjustments. I knew that this was my dress and I was determined to find it somewhere else. I went on the designer's website and saw that What’s Up Europe in Visalia had the dress. So I gave What’s Up Europe a call and the dress was cheaper than the other salon. I set up an appointment with Melissa and she was so kind and helpful. I had told her how I would need to have alterations make custom sleeves to match the dress and right away she remembered that they had another dress with detachable sleeves that matched perfectly with my dress. So not only did she save me money by buying the dress but also in alterations. Thank you Melissa for making all of my dress buying...
