Lake Bottom Brewery & Distillery — Restaurant in Visalia

So I want to say I’m very disappointed with my last experience at this place. We went two other times and had excellent service both times and the workers were great and very helpful! First time was evening and another was around late dinner time. This last Saturday my husband and I were excited to order some mules and unwind. Sat down right at the bar and got drink menus and the bartender that was a female with black hair I wish I got her name but she didn’t talk or give us much help.. went ahead and went to the other side of the bar helped another couple and two other gentlemen. We waited over 15 minutes to receive drinks. She was not busy.. she was busy telling her whole life story to the others on the end. A guy came and finally asked if We’ve been helped. He was the one who gave us our drinks. waited another 10 minutes to wave her down for a beer. We also wanted to order an appetizer when she asked what we’d like.. she told us kitchen was closed. Wasn’t much help. Beer she chose to serve was nasty. Didn’t even asked if we liked the choice. At this point I didn’t even want to be here anymore so we had to flag her down again (she was across from us talking about her relationship to the others) for our check. We did not tip her because we tip based on service! She made a smart remark about it. The time before this, is why we came back the gentleman who sat us down was very attentive. Lake Bottom Brewery, its owner and staff saved my wedding weekend! The day before our rehearsal dinner was set to be held at another venue downtown, the event coordinator emailed me to say we likely wouldn't be able to hold our rehearsal dinner there anymore on Friday as there'd been a small fire in the kitchen. Obviously trying to find a new venue 24 hours before our rehearsal dinner was a stressful and hectic time. We already had booked in our wedding after-party at Lake Bottom so thought we'd push our luck and see if they could also help us with the rehearsal dinner on such short notice. The owner was so calm and immediately said yes, whatever we can do to help - literally the best words any bride-to-be can hear. He allowed us a large table of 20+ people with decorations and could order anything on the menu. The staff were so friendly and helpful through the whole evening even though they were quite busy looking after the many other Friday night guests. The following evening at the wedding after-party we experienced the exact same superb service and treatment. I've been to this location twice and the food is always great. The first time, I met the chef who is really awesome and told her that the food was excellent. The beer was also really good and the service was great.

The second time I went back, which was almost a year later, I am greeted with one of the most snooty, lazy, unattentive waitresses I have ever seen. She took forever to get us drinks, didn't ask if we wanted appetizers before rudely giving us a "build-a-burger" slip to fill out, never offered to refill out glasses, half-heartedly asked if we were doing ok after thirty minutes and didn't seem to care that the slips we filled out listed the side prices wrong for our garlic fries at $1.50 instead of $3 which was listed on the big menu, but not the slips. If memory serves, that was an issue a year ago and it was never corrected. I pointed it out to our waitress who, instead of just adjusting it or really caring, just gave a hollow apology, took my payment and walked away.
