For some five years or more now, I've suffered daily in the soles of both feet the searing pain caused by the condition called peripheral neuropathy, more specifically diagnosed by Timothy Wei via EMG analysis as "axonal polyneuropathy, Chronic, with no acute denervation," noted in Wei's own hand. It's an incurable condition. Referred to Wei by my personal care quack, I went to the 2nd-floor Broadway address given, which proved to be incorrect; the current occupant of that office kindly tracked down Wei's correct address, where I went next to make an appointment; Wei himself explained away the mistake, claiming it was difficult to update all contacts, just the first warning sign concerning the incompetence of this office. Sure, Wei puts on a great front of sincere care and concern, and he convincingly pretends to be interested in treating the condition after completing diagnosis. After the patient outlives his usefulness as a source of profit, Wei promptly dismisses you. In his intake paperwork, Wei tries to get patients(I refuse)to sign off on consenting to pay an exorbitant fee($75?)for missing appointments without 48-hour notice; yet at our second appointment I was left sitting in Wei's waiting room a full half hour after our appointment time, uncompensated of course. At that visit, Wei said he would send his "notes" to my personal care quack to order blood lab tests(never ordered)for diagnosing the condition; he also said he would prescribe a larger dose of a pain medication he prescribed at the first visit(duloxetine), which he neglected to do until I reminded him in a first letter; that drug turned out to be a mis-prescribed ANTI-DEPRESSANT drug, which was not only useless as a pain reliever, but which ultimately caused bleeding in my bowels! In reply, Wei falsely claimed a "misunderstanding"(that stock excuse), and outright lied, claiming he had no previous lab results for me, even after showing me on his own computer his access to my former Kaiser record(which Kaiser neglects to transfer despite numerous form requests), complaining in turn that it would be too much trouble to copy-and-paste that record to my personal care quack. After that, Wei intended to palm me off onto his nurse practitioner. For future communications, Wei referred me to a patient portal, which requires from the doctor an authorization code, which naturally he neglected to give me. Once Wei finally sent me a lab slip for blood testing, his own form STILL reflected incorrectly his past defunct address! Both Wei's voicemail and website email contact functions were disabled when last tried. Worst of all, Wei outright deliberately ignored TWO written requests for assistance to document and pursue a DISABILITY STATUS relating to this painful condition. I did indeed obtain the directed LabCorp blood tests, the results of which Wei has neglected to review. As of 9 Jan. 18, the date he received my second certified letter concerning this condition, Wei continues, without reason or explanation, to evade his patient responsibility in these matters. Why quacks can't just do things right from the start instead of provoking conflict is way beyond me. But these outstanding questions remain and aren't about to disappear anytime soon. A more responsible approach is recommended. NOW! Before a formal complaint is filed with the proper...
Read moreI was absolutely fortunate to find DR. Wei as a neurologist for my wifes Parkinsons Disease. Wife was diagnosed her illness while we had Kaiser Permanente for our health coverage on the year of 2011. We had terrible and painful experience with her doctor. She was denied out of network visit and second opinion. After we changed our health plan we were able to search for new neurologist. I believe in God and our prayers came through. It was blessing fate we landed Dr. Wei for her appointments. Prior visiting Dr. Wei I thought for sure I was losing my wife. She had lost weight, her will to live and felt hopeless. Our angel Dr. Wei took my wife under his wings and took care of her as if his own family. He put her regiment of movement disorder medications. After few trials of changing her prescriptions dosages I couldn't believe in my wife
s in her outlook for life. She became more vibrant, outgoing and started going to health club. Yoga and dancing classes. What a turnaround to see her happy, smiling and enjoying her food. Her health improvement also effected my depression in a positive way. Dr. Wei
s positive attitude, kind heart and professionalism earned our admiration for him. I would most definitely without a doubt , would recommend Dr. Wei anyone who has neurological issues with their health . God bless you Dr. Wei and may you care your other patients as you have done with my wife. Thank you for having my wife back as a... Read moreHe needs to learn how to treat patients and their concerns with dignity and respect. He right away judged me based on my past history of having anxiety and overlooked the obvious sensory peripheral nerve symptoms I was having as just basically being in my head. He also has not worked with me in any way to try to get to the bottom of what is going on and even when I emailed him that I am suffering and in horrific pain he just says there is nothing he can do for me and try cymbalta. He is cold, arrogant and plain rude. He acts like he is a god if you ever try to ask any questions or bring him any research studies to ask questions about. As others have noted Wei is not disability friendly and I would say he actually discriminates against people with disabilities and mental health challenges. Doctors and John Muir in particular have a serious problem of having doctors who are extremely arrogant and judgemental yet act like they are geniuses while at the same time not thinking outside of the box at all or showing any signs of caring enough about patients to dig deeper and consider alternative possibilities or tests to find the answers. John Muir does not allow patients to be heard and be a team member in their health it is...
