Haxton's Tollgate Liquor Inc — Local services in Warwick

I'm a regular weekly/bi-weekly customer here for well over a year but unfortunately I can no longer be. Recently my Mother and I visited and a young man wasn't wearing a mask (loose belowhisface); my Mother spoke on it to our cashier a young lady with glasses. Coming to his defense she explains how kind he is, how much he cares about people, and what he does for people never once asking him to put it on. I know they're all good people in Haxton as I've never once had any type of unpleasant experience before this. Transaction ended and we leave the store missing an item and I have to return for it. The cashier, the maskless young man, and 2 others were standing where we had just left discussing my Mother and laughing. Awkward. I got a quick nervous apology as she realized I was standing behind her. I only have one Mother and wanted to defend her as fiercely as she had defended her coworker. Unfortunately for me being young and Black in 2020 I choose to be extremely passive in any type of public situation or confrontation so with that being said, I just wanted to finish what we started so we...

I was searching for more competitive pricing in the Warwick area as prices in Westerly tend to be high. Haxton's reviews looked great until I came upon the experience of the young man who was shopping with his mother. There was a clerk who was not wearing a mask and the customer rightfully called him out on it. There was a missing item for which customer returned and this is what stopped me cold! Employees standing around ridiculing them! How despicable and hateful! For months, people have followed guidelines to eradicate this terrible virus. It's unfortunate that you employ people that make light of this precaution. What makes it all the more disgraceful is this was a person of color and needed to "keep it light" in order to avoid a potentially violent situation. There is no excuse for this type...

So so rating because their beer selection isn't that good. I was looking for a good dark ale or beer and had a very hard time finding dark beer at all. They had all kinds of fluky beers with odd names and additives like pumpkin, banana, chocolate, etc ugh.

So if you're looking for Bud, Coors, etc, or some goofy type beer then they probably have it. But don't bother if you're looking for a good imported beer especially if it is a dark beer.

I also was looking for Twisted Tea in a variety pack for my wife and struck out there as well. In the end I walked out buying nothing at all.

I went to Joyal's and found everything I needed and probably at a cheaper price. Haxton puts out a lot of product of each type of beer taking up room instead of less product but more room...
