I am only giving you two stars because the check in person was polite. I called in prior to arriving, due to me being at two other OSU locations. I was told that they could not do this particular blood test (Venous Blood Gas) so I thought I would call in and double check that they could complete it in Dublin. I spoke with a David and he said that they could do it as long as I arrived by 5. I went to the lab and was told that they didn't do anything like that. The gal that I was speaking with, turned and looked over her shoulder and asked another co-worker if they did that test. In a very abrupt manner, she responded and said "No". She then said that they never do that test here. I then remembered that I had this test done back in March or April and asked if they could verify if I had it done there. At that time, they all changed their tone of voice. I told them that I spoke with David and they called him. Still, I was told that it couldn't be completed. If I knew this was going to be the case then I wouldn't have made the trip in to Dublin. I was already all over Columbus trying to get my test done and I live in London. I left there and called my doctor's office. She wasn't sure where the test could be completed and sent a message to my doctor. At this point, I probably won't have an answer til Monday since it is the holiday. She was the only one that had gone above and beyond in trying to get an answer for me. Dublin did not which is really disappointing for me. I can normally plan on them being the "5...
Read moreThe staff are very nice and can only do what they can with the resources available to them, but it is a little frustrating the way the lab is run. The posted opening hours start at 7:30. You are able to check in the main entrance earlier than 7:30, but then are asked to sit in the waiting area for the lab until they unlock their check-in window. During that time 10+ patients all corral to the front desk and unfortunately it seems there is only one person until 8AM to check everyone in and also take patients back to draw labs. Why not just change the time to 8 AM when all your staff is able to show up? This would cause less confusion to patients and less stress for your staff. I checked in at 7:15 AM and was the 5th person to check in at the lab desk. I wasn't brought back for labs until 8:30. At 8 AM only 1 patient was called back due to how busy the lab was. Other than that, the staff treated everyone with respect and handled how busy the waiting room was with professionalism and a smile...
Read moreSuper efficient and friendly check in staff. Medical team was profession, supportive and communicated details of my diagnosis and follow on care plan simply and clearly.
The only bit of friction was some confusion between the team and the liaison who was to order a procedure that needs to happen at the main campus.
When they called to set up the appointment and asked me to confirm if the treatment they were scheduling matched my understanding of what the cardiology team told me to expect, we discovered it did not.
It will get sorted and I’m sure the care I get eventually will be top-notch as usual but the scenario is example of my concern with the WMC/TOSU health system.
It feels to me like they are experiencing some growing pains in terms of smooth patient navigation at the specialist level and specialist availability.
For example it took me three weeks to schedule a follow up exam with the Cardio Vascular center when my physician requested that I be seen...
