I have tapped into F3 Wellness Connections' wide range of services before, including their at-home massage service which I recommend! This review though is for their kettlebell training program that I completed - my first personal training experience ever. Let me preface this review by saying that co-owners Glenn and Sarah Seth are absolutely charming, very responsive, and very accommodating.
I originally signed up for a 3-month kettlebell training program via email with Glenn after I had a complimentary first session with him. The pricing was packaged in such a way that you apparently need to purchase a minimum of 3 months. And what I thought was a pre-fixed package with an expiration date actually turned out to be a "trial" with automatic payments renewed. In retrospect, this was confusing, because I don't remember this auto-renewal feature being explicitly stated in any written terms and conditions. Although F3 offers competitive pricing for personal training, the pricing structure for the kettlebell training program was also a bit confusing to me vis-a-vis this built-in auto-renewal. For instance, I got a discount for the first month, and then was quoted a monthly price for the second and third month. But then there was an automatic renewal? Good thing I am an organized person who keeps track of all my scheduled appointments in my calendar, because had I not said anything, F3 Wellness would have gone ahead to initiate the auto-renewal at the end of my first three months without any heads up. Also FYI, you must explicitly opt out before the 4th of the month in order not to be charged for the proceeding month - but then again, not sure how this works if you sign up for a fixed 3-month package...are you then renewed for another fixed 3 months? Again, another key detail I didn't remember seeing in explicit written terms. There's a possibility I missed this detail, who knows. For any new clients, I strongly encourage you to insist on a written contract or for these "renewal" terms to be explicitly written down somewhere for you to review before you agree to any services! Also, after pointing out some wrongful charges on F3's part, after some back and forth and with no apology - I was refunded for my last month and my account was deactivated in a passive aggressive manner.
All of my kettlebell training sessions were virtual, with the exception of Glenn stopping over at my apartment gym for a rare opportunity to train in person while he was in town. My sessions ran for approximately 50 minutes each. Glenn was always on time, fun, professional, and flexible with scheduling. Even when I had a minor muscle injury, he adapted quickly, provided complimentary recovery sessions, and listened to my requests for custom instructional videos (YouTube links, which helped me ensure I was doing the moves correctly), or he provided me with extra detailed written instructions over email when requested. He tends to over-explain things at times, but his instruction is super great and he knows what he's doing. I also really appreciated the homework, which I could do on my own at any time.
Glenn's verbal instruction is very effective, as I mentioned. He has had a shoulder injury in the past himself and could not always demonstrate all the moves, but Sarah was always gracious to demonstrate the moves in the background. Glenn stays focused and keeps you on count, even with his two adorable kids occasionally interrupting in the background.
At the end of the day, I'm glad I gave virtual kettlebell training with F3 Wellness a try and I definitely gained from learning proper kettlebell techniques and building more stamina and strength, but unfortunately the program is just not for me. Thus I decided to try in-person personal training elsewhere.
Final thought: If you decide to do virtual training for yourself, whether with F3 or anywhere else, be sure to examine the return on investment you'd be getting compared to following along to workout videos from other certified trainers on YouTube vis-a-vis...
Read moreI can not give a more whole-heartedly positive and enthusiastic review for this paragon of an approachable fitness professional. Glenn is a fantastic trainer who knows how to approach both experienced and novice clients alike! He actively listens to you and ensures you get the most out of every training session. As a pretty fit guy in his late forties, who thought he knew a thing or two about training, I have been consistently amazed how much I have improved under Glenn's tutelage. He has truly helped me break my kettlebell fitness plateau, and is helping me transform me from a kettlebell enthusiast into a kettlebell athlete. If it were not for Glenn's most thoughtful and effective instruction, I would have never been able to handle two 24kg kettlebells after less than three months of training (I am 5.9 and 155Lbs) In short, Glenn is a great coach and I am truly hoping his business and approach to training gets the recognition it deserves!...
Read moreI had my first visit yesterday, and it was a great experience. The workout was customized to my specific needs. The facilities are very nice and I had a great stretch. I’ve taken kettlebell classes a few times over the past 8 years. It’s been 2 years since I’ve had a class due to the distance and scheduling. I was so excited to find something close to home that can fit into my schedule. Glenn was great in helping me get back to the basic fundamentals of kettlebells. I’m really looking forward to the personal training and get on track again. I’ve found kettlebell training, condition to be one of the best overall workouts I’ve ever done. ...
