Roti Mediterranean Bowls. Salads. Pitas. — Restaurant in Washington

This is not the same Roti as before the pandemic, at all. To be clear, this rating is more about systemic changes than a reflection on this location specifically; it was clean, COVID protocol conscious, and staff was friendly and patient.

But as someone who went to Roti 1-2x a week pre-pandemic, I was completely lost. The menu now prioritizes preplanned options vs build your own bowls and the new menu reflects this; it was near impossible to come up with something approximating what I used to get. Different rice, and had 3 different types of slaw for sides but no couscous or tomato based anything. No labels on any of the sides either, making it difficult to figure out what I wanted. And I was blown away by the price - what used to cost $10-11 in February 2020 is now over $17 in February 2022. It seemed like the bowls were definitely smaller than before too. Definitely de-prioritizing Roti for future lunch plans,...

I came in and asked for 3 side orders of rice and 3 side orders of chicken. For some reason, this bothered the gal filling the containers and it REALLY bothered the shift manager, Eric. I was perfectly polite in my request, so I have no idea what the problem was... After I got the sides and moved down the line, I also asked for 6 extra pitas and the woman goes "ok FINE but it's 50 cents extra!!"... I said, "that's fine, thanks". Eric opened a bag but then pushed all the containers at me to fill the bag myself. His attitude was so weird. He never even said one word to me... Then I accidently hit the wrong button for the receipt so I kindly asked him to print one because I messed up on the tap screen... HE CLAPPED HIS HANDS TOGETHER IN FRUSTRATION. I honestly had no idea printing a receipt was that frustrating or problematic.

Went in here yesterday to grab a bite before i went home. I was starving and really wanted something to hit the spot. The workers were kind and the meat and other sides were good. But the rice was old and burnt. Really hard tough to chew pieces of rice. It really ruined the whole meal. And needless to say, this place did not hit the spot. I was hoping to leave with a happy stomach, but instead was really depressed that i wasted my money on a food dish where 60% of it was hard dry rice. Ill be going to cava from now on if roti is only gonna serve me hard rice and also not do anything about it to make me satisfied. They were pretty much like "yeah we screwed up your...
