I warmly recommend Pointing Plus to anyone who needs masonry work done, especially on an old/historic building. Danny did extensive repointing and repainting on our 1903 townhouse, and we're thrilled with the results. He also brought in a roofer for some related gutter and roof work, and managed them start to finish.

Throughout the project, Danny had a real eye for quality. When he saw a bit of the new gutters that he thought could look better, he proactively worked with the roofer to find a better solution and re-do that portion of the work. He also went above and beyond with the repointing work, fixing small issues with the bricks (e.g. re-aligning a section of masonry) to ensure the result would look excellent.

Lastly, I'll say that Danny was exceptionally clear and fair in all of his business dealings. He gave reasonable quotes, and when some masonry turned out to be more damaged than we could see from the ground, he gave us well-explained and zero-pressure options of how we could fix within existing scope or expand scope for a more in-depth fix.

Pointing Plus is excellent at what they do. They are reasonably priced, responsible during every step of a project, and exceptional at communication. Their approach is comprehensive and once engaged they are clear about the process, timing and expected results.

Pointing Plus easily navigated the many challenges and permitting that comes with working on a historic building (circa 1895) in an historic neighborhood. They approached the 125+ year old façade with care and an extensive knowledge about mortar, color, scaffolding, and structure. And, given that the building had never been repointed, as part of the process large sections of the façade had to be rebuilt including large brownstone headers and sculptural elements. The goal was to maintain the historic presence and shore up the structure and Pointing Plus succeeded on every level.

When done properly, pointing should be a once in a lifetime project. Working with Pointing Plus has given me the confidence knowing the façade of this building will be here for...

Danny was fabulous. We hired him to repoint our row house. He discovered a larger issue involving water intrusion. He could have just finished the repointing and moved on, but he cares so much about his customers that he took the time to show us the problem, talk through it, make recommendations, and explain options. He was incredibly thorough, taking tons of extra time to talk through exactly what was going on and ease all our fears.

In the end, he was able to address the underlying problem, and he went above and beyond to make sure our home is sealed up tighter than a drum, even coming over after hours during heavy rain storms to make sure that there were no other points of entry for water.
