I have been going for massages for over 30 years, due to a chronic neck condition. I found Noke (Phouangboupha Khambay) at the Hotel Washington spa. She did the most fantastic massage, with stretching that relieved ALL of my pain points! Most massage therapists tell me "it will take several sessions to really get to the root of the issue." Well not with Noke, she is amazing. I don't live in DC, but any time I visit, I will be scheduling with Noke!

Literally disappointed! For the price it is, everything very cheap quality. The experience is terrible. Paying $420 for a 100min massage they definitely should give better quality of products and better experience. Bathroom looks cheap, robe cheap, the chacurterie board they said would have is a piece of cheddar cheese the cheap one and a piece of grapes. No words to explain how it being disappointed.

This is not a luxurious experience… but they do charge you a luxury price.

First impression was fine — everyone at reception was friendly. But things started going downhill in the locker room. First, all of the lockers were broken. Every one. So the guide told me to leave my clothes in the locker (and cross my fingers they’d still be there when I got back, I guess) but to bring my purse and all of my valuable with me to the lounge and treatment room. Huh?

Also, the locker room is teeny tiny. One bathroom (which is apparently the only women’s bathroom for the whole space). Two sinks. One bench. Ten broken lockers. That’s it.

Then I was told to wait in the lounge for my treatment. The “lounge” is one couch and two chairs in a maybe 10x9 room. Bright lighting, no music, no ambiance, not relaxing. When I came in there was a small group of women already there, so there was no place to sit. Also not good.

The masseuse came and got me. The massage was fine. Not great, but fine. And the treatment room was nice. I was with a couple of friends who I think had better massages, so I’d advise to request specific providers who have gotten good reviews.

Then I was sent back to the “lounge” — where there was now a new group of women. But at least there was a seat. And a lukewarm glass of “champagne.” The lounge also has water, fruit, crackers, cheese. Very barebones. Very get in and get out.

But I decided to take a sauna because why not? Well, I’ll tell you why not. The sauna is also a shower. The only shower in the whole place. So you might be taking a steam while someone Is taking a literal shower. Or while someone is waiting to take a shower .

Finally, on checkout, they automatically charged me a 20% gratuity. And no one asked about whether I enjoyed my service. No one seemed to care. That’s never happened to me at all spa before.

Tl;dr? This spa can’t possibly be the best that D.C....

Words cannot express how wonderful this spa experience was for me. I had not yet visited this spa. But I booked appointments and invited my friend who was getting married for a few hours of pampering. We both got the volcanic scrub and a 50-minute massage.

Walking in, the hotel staff was kind and helpful, letting me know where to go. Farah met me at the spa front desk and showed me around the beautiful facilities. She was kind, thoughtful, and understanding of us both running a few minutes behind due to traffic.

I can't speak for my friend, but my massage therapist, Dmytro Kozachuk, was absolutely incredible. He was respectful, mindful, and well-trained. Typically, I can't relax during a massage, but I found myself dozing off toward the end! Best massage of my life. I will absolutely be back.

The champagne option at the end of the massage did not hurt.

My friend and I topped it off with our champagne and an extra steam in the steam shower. Afterward, Farah was so lovely helping us check out.

I cannot say enough good things about this spa - my experience with Farah and Dmytro, the overall feel, and the customer service. If I had to rate Hotel Washington Spa out of 5....it...

I went to Bliss Spa today, Oct 10, during COVID-19. And I had an amazing relaxing experience. While not being able to enjoy any communal spaces due to COVID is unfortunate, everything else is simply blissful. Lol. Everything is throughly clean. I got a manicure, pedicure, and a massage. If you were to ask me before this if I would go to the spa if I had to wear a mask through the entirety of my services I probably would have said no. But I was at Bliss for over 3 hours with my mask on the entire time and it did not take away from the experience at all. While everything was great, the massage experience was excellent. Leo was terrific. He went through all of the updated procedures and precautions, and my massage wasn't negatively affected by any of the COVID-19 related changes. If COVID safety is your concern, everyone is in masks, every is socially distanced, sanitizer is readily available, and everything is wiped down between customers. Specifically for the massages they clean and wipe down after each customer and they wait until the new customer comes in to put the one time use items on in front the client. I had a great trip. I'll probably...
