WHOA ... WATCH OUT! Can the USPS ACTUALLY be making marked improvements in their service?
After having two (later deemed three) packages disappear from my mailbox recently, I filled out a police report, filed reports with [the] USPS and with the sellers, and finally, contacted the US Postal Inspector's Office.
Filing with my local sheriff's office and my local USPS did not (as was expected) garner much more than report numbers, but the US Postal Inspector's Office was a horse of a different color. I could not find a review page for them as they seem to be quite secretive about a physical address and I wasn't in the mood to really look, so I am leaving my review here in the hopes that it may help someone who is having problems with undelivered mail, or more accurately, packages.
One of the things the lady who I spoke to, and I, discussed, was the use of the "Informed Delivery" service which the USPS now offers. With an active USPS account, when you enroll in Informed Delivery, you can opt to receive updates on all your packages via email or SMS messages on your phone. After hanging up with the representative, I signed up for it and, without exaggeration, had a notification within seconds about another package that was en-route that day. You can tweak it, as I did, to only be notified of packages placed in your mailbox, or for however number or choice of alerts you'd like. So far, I love it and I really like that USPS is implementing tools such as these to help their customers.
… Now, if they could only answer...
Read moreIncompetent employees at USPS from upper management to the mailman. You can see it when you walk into any USPS facility that all the locations are in bad shape going down here in Central Florida for many years, ugly maintained by low level people who don't know or won't care properly, good for hog sty care, not a USPS store. But, I'm here again today to complain about something I've already done (Case Confirmation For Service Request 55259631) and wasn't successful. The product that was delivered on September 19th, DOESN'T LEAVE THE SMALL SIZE OF THE MAILBOX DOOR, I ALREADY LEFT A MESSAGE AND ASKED THE POSTMAN HERE TO LEAVE IT IN THE BIG BOX. It was possible to him/her put it inside, because it opens the entire front of the archaic mailbox system, but was not possible to take it out through my door #12, which is too small. Follow Amazon's example, or better, let Amazon or other competent company take care of the USPS, you, the current directors and managers, are incapable of producing a good service for American consumers. My address: Whooping Crane Run,...
Read moreI see why more people are using other delivery services. I ordered a package on 3/15/18 that arrived at the facility on the same day in Indiana. It was supposed to ship to Mississippi. The tracking system stated "In Transit to Next Facility" which really means that it is sitting in the distribution center or a truck somewhere. It made it to New Mexico on 3/17/18 and said it was sent right back out. Then it was "In Transit to Next Facility" until 5/21/18 where it ended up in Jacksonville, FL. Then it was "In Transit to Next Facility" until 5/24/18 where it ended up in Memphis, TN. I wondered if it will make its way to Mississippi. During this time, I called the customer service number. I had to wait anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours to get a live person. Yesterday, the system crashed and I couldn't get a person at all. I even emailed the website and the lady at the local office called me to say that she has not received the package for delivery yet. You can't make this stuff up. If I ever order from that company again, I will use the...
