The waterfront on the Pamlico River in Washington NC is a lovely gem and should be the model for all cities and towns with any kind of waterfront. It is open, beautiful and very clean. I spoke to a guy that works here and it is extremely well run and maintained. They have a large dog area, lots of bags and trash cans so it is very clean. There is a wonderful playground for children, benches 10' from the water, and very clean public restrooms at each end of the waterfront. There are some amazing boats docked here too. The Washington County visitors center is right on the park as well (I gave them a 5 star review) so find out all of the great things to see and do. Washington (named after General Washington as the founder of the town served under him during the revolutionary war.) I have eaten my breakfast here a few times and it is terrific. Highly recommended!

The place is beautiful, the calm and everything that transmits without so much noise, the local people are very friendly and respectful, I am delighted with the park, there is always parking and everything is clean.
