I will now leave a few brief stories into why you should buy all your jewelry from Ashcroft & Oak!

The first item I bought was a promise ring. I had assistance from Caid, who was super friendly and helped me find exactly what I wanted. Needless to say the relationship, which this was purchased for had a tragic ending that left me unsure as to what I should do with the item... (I will get back to this in a moment).

The second item I decided to buy was a 14k gold necklace. I had assistance from Caid once again. This time I came in with a general idea of what I wanted, but once again he helped me find exactly what I wanted and even helped with some discounts!

After making this second purchase I realized I still had the promise ring and no longer had a use for it so I decided to return it. Caid was able to assist me in receiving nearly 100% back on the item and it went towards my latest collection piece (the gold necklace).

The third item I received service for was from Kae. She assisted me in finding a gold boxing bear pendant for my gold necklace. I went in with the idea of getting a bison, but was easily persuaded by the idea of having a boxing bear pendant. This was in part due to her enthusiasm and the fact that who wouldn’t want to have a boxing bear pendant?

The final item I was on the look out for was gold dangle cross earrings. This was a team effort from both Kae and Caid to assist me in the purchase. Kae spent around half an hour browsing different earring options online and helped teach me a little bit more about earrings (I had just had them pierced two days prior). After a lot of searching she recommended I do some more digging in order to find exactly what I wanted.

So I left...

But, the story doesn’t end there.

Flash forward to the next day. Caid and Kae were both at the store, but Caid made the final sale. He assisted me in finding the perfect earring by finding ways to customize it to be exactly what I was looking for.

With all of that said and done I would have to say that both Caid and Kae are very genuine and do their absolute best to assist the customer to find exactly what they are after. On top of this they make sure to find discounts and other ways to best assist or customize your needs to your budget!

Also, if you ever want to purchase a gold boxing bear pendant I highly recommend you go through Kae because she knows exactly where...

Months ago I ordered a custom engagement ring from this store. While filling out the order, the employee (the general manager) did not even ask what size the ring was. I had to stop him mid order to make sure he had the correct size in (6). He was never even going to ask.

Now once I picked up the ring in store and proposed, I find that the ring is way too large. I took the ring back and sure enough it was a 7. Understanding that mistakes happen, we wanted to speak with the manager to have it resized. Well after waiting for over an hour for him to get there (we were told he would be there in 20 minutes. . . . twice) he finally came and his customer service was awful. His apology was scripted, insincere, and lacked apathy. While trying to get it sent back for resizing, he kept bringing up our lack of a lifetime protection plan even though this was not a protection plan issue, it was an ordering issue. I never even got what I ordered! And to top it off, he was expecting us to pay the shipping since we do not currently reside in Sioux Falls.

When he filled out the resizing form, he again never even asked for a shipping address (I had to call after realizing this and give them the shipping address). The wait time is expected to be another 4-6 weeks so we will see if the ring is correct this time. If I would have known this was going to be how service was at this location, I would have bought my ring elsewhere.

Long story short, when you spend thousands of dollars on a product, you expect to get what you ordered. I didn't receive the ring I paid for, and to add fuel to the fire, was treated very poorly when trying to resolve the issue. The other employees were friendly and considerate but the manager was far from. I don't know if this is a single employee issue, or a location problem, however in the future I will be taking my business elsewhere and would advise others to proceed...

My fiance and I popped by to look at wedding bands when we were down in Sioux Falls for a weekend away. This was literally the first place we went to look for wedding bands. The sales lady was very rude and pushy. She made us feel like we were already behind in planning and should have ordered our rings already. I explained the style I wanted to complement my engagement ring, and she showed me rings that didn't fit the description. When I did get her to pull out the ones I liked, she quickly said, "well, is that what you want to go with?" very unceremoniously. Sure, she sells rings to people all the time, but for us, this is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, hopefully. We wanted a little more care and interest. We thanked her for her time and wander around the mall a little more.

We ended up at a South Dakota-founded jeweler and got great services. When we said that we wanted to think about it and maybe go to our hometown branch of the store, the sales lady was awesome. We ended up purchasing my wedding band a week later from that jeweler, and it was resized and ready two days later. My fiance is still deciding on his style.

Our experience at Ashcroft & Oak in Sioux Falls was treated the same way one is expected to order at a diner. Except we need to eat three times a day, and if one meal isn't that great, it's OK. You get to pick out your wedding band once if you're lucky, and we did not get treated like...
