I generally prefer to write a "one star" review simply because I feel potential customers and staff/management will be more likely to read my comments. The other 90% of the reviews here are essentially the same. If you read one on them, you've gotten the same general jest of the rest.
With that said I must say that those 90 % reviewers are absolutely correct This restaurant is a gem of a very serious food service establishment. They have it all going for them, locaction, facility and what a property it is. Now if the staff and management alike can just bring their best sense of pride to the work place every day with every customer, they can surely bring the 90% favorable reviews closer to 100%.
Here are a few of my own do's and don'ts: When a customer orders your Beef Dip sandwich. Let them know it's a great choice as long as you don't have a big appetite. Because your version of a French Dip is about the size of one of those Arby's Sliders without the great atmosphere of course. And, if you're charging over $20 for a half rack of ribs, then for God sake take them off the grill before the "bark" becomes so thick and burnt that the ribs should go into the trashcan. I get that you don't want to throw away product and profit but remember. Your goal should be to have your customers return. Don't give us reasons not to come back. Also, and this may seem picky but if I ask for another little triangular piece of cornbread which was evidently a garnish on the rib plate, consider it a compliment. Do not view it as a source of incremental sales. The corn bread was the only starch portion on the plate, bread should be served with a meal and $3.50 (plus sales tax) is a ridiculous and insulting price to pay for a tiny piece cornbread. What are thinking, it's a croissant? it cornbread! And Iook, I let you get away with serving me unsaleable ribs for full price. Really, they were like smoked beef jerky, Give me a break. I do not send food back to the kitchen.
But to be fair, no one seemed to care if everything was up to our expectations or a least they didn't ask. Even if you cannot identify with anything I've mentioned, right or wrong, I'm still the customer. You can't get those from your suppliers. You...
Read moreWe had a private party there with approximately 30 people and there was being a lot of money spent there all drinks and dinner was paid for by the host of the party. They took her order for the food and it took over an hour and a half for them to bring us our food after placing a order. So the drinks were paid for by the host of the party like I mentioned earlier. So people were drinking slightly more than I should have because they're waiting for their meal and one couple was asked to leave because his fiance had a little too much to drink but was not causing problems. Another gentleman had a little too much to drink and it was obvious but he was not causing any issues and he was cut off of the alcohol. So due to the fact it took them so long to service center and they were free drinks and everybody was on the empty stomach and the host of the party was spending whatever amount that was charged due to whatever the party wanted. Yes people drink a little too much waiting for their food but they weren't causing problems and were treated poorly due to the negligence on the kitchen staff or manager I don't know. We end up leaving because we're tired waiting and ended up going buying burgers. Today my friend took his wife out there for Valentine's dinner and I warned him not to but he did it anyways and then he text me and said it was the worst service and he would never go back there again and they did not like the food as well and it took a long time to get served. Both parties were willing to spend whatever amount that the bill come to and was treated poorly. I believe that is kind of sad. I have been treated better at fast food restaurants all over then this place. I was highly disappointed and my best friend was highly disappointed as well. Save your money go to McDonald's...
Read moreFrom the outside, it appears to be one of the nicer restaurants in the Sioux Falls area. The wife and I put on our semi formal fancy pants and gave this place a whirl.
Upon entering, the decor is beautiful. Everything is wood from floor to ceiling. Rotisserie chickens turning over open flames. Giant walls of wine and liquor. Large bar in the center. It's like a Farm to Table restaurant meets Gordon Ramsay.
Our waitress Megan greeted us. She was friendly enough. Not the most talkative which I usually prefer. Someone who brings jokes is always a plus but nothing negative to say about her. We started with Margaritas and the appetizer of smoked Burrata.
Our Margaritas were absolutely terrible. Tasted like straight sugar water. So horrible. The smoke Burrata was excellent. Plating was gorgeous and the dish was top notch. Having eaten at several Gordon Ramsay restaurants in Vegas, this app was like something I'd get there.
Then we were brought our smoked brisket dinner and beef dipped sandwich. The brisket was some of the best I'd ever eaten. The Mac N Cheese was superb. Even the pickles were homemade. Cornbread was delicious.
Had the Margaritas not been so gross, I would have easily awarded this place the coveted Sioux Falls Foodie 5 star rating. Decor was 5 star, food was 5 star, waitress was 3 star, drinks were 1 star. However it is one of the top 5 places in Sioux Falls. Currently at my number 4 spot behind Granite City, La Plaza Fiesta and Vinyl Tacos, in that order.
I'll be back again and this time I'll order a drink that's not a Margarita. Prices were decent. With a nice tip, $50/person. A must try in the...
