Two family members and I went Saturday evening before supper rush to grab a quick bite to eat. We walked into the restaurant and looked over the pizzas that they had available to buy by the slice. They had a few classic pizzas, but unfortunately nothing with actual meat on it. We ordered four slices, and drinks. The pizza was between $4 and $5 per slice, including the drinks it would have made for a budget-friendly and quick supper. We were told that the wait time would be 10 minutes. We were not given any cups or instructions. We found cups by the drink machine and helped ourselves. We waited for a while, and the shop slowly started to pick up business. There were only a few people in the restaurant when we arrived. After waiting around 20 minutes, I went up to the counter and asked what had happened with our pizza. I watched as the employee check the oven he had put our pizza in, to find the pizza slices thoroughly burned. There was no explanation given, no apology given, I stood there and watched as they put for more slices into the oven and set a timer. I took my seat and waited once again for my pizza. It was a much shorter time, and we finally got our slices. The overall quality of the pizza was pretty good. The crust, cheese, and sauce of the cheese pizzas that we had were decent. It was a good representation of a Brooklyn slice. It seemed that the restaurant was in a little bit of disarray. Including the bathrooms, it looked like the main part of the restaurant needed cleaning. The four employees that were there seemed to have difficulty keeping up with the stream of people, and while we were there, no attention was paid to the dining room. It didn't seem as though there were set responsibilities for the employees, and there were some hygiene...
Read moreI have frequented this place a few times for lunch and the pizza has always been excellent. My wife and kids joined me on one occasion and everyone enjoyed the pizza. We got takeout last night for dinner and it was great. I am not sure if it was slightly undercooked for my preference or perhaps I just prefer the by the slice reheat that seems to have a bit more crispy crust and a better chew than the pizza we brought home. Reheating the leftover slices at home yielded the perfect cook that I get with the by the slice at lunch. We also got some wings to go. They were meaty and the sauce was perfect. They were not cooked to my preference for sure though. There was no crust or crispiness to them at all. I believe this is just the way they do their wings though because I have seen other customers eat them at lunch and I had taken notice of the cook on them previously. You may wonder why I would try them knowing this. Well, toss those extra saucy wings in the air fryer at 400 for 10 minutes. Do a couple of shakes along the way and you have amazing wings! I do have a preference for a bit of char on things like crust and wings, so these are just my preference comments. The food here is excellent and I believe a good value. Disregard the negative reviews from their early days when the place first opened. I have read a lot of the old reviews and believe they are well beyond the learning phase of a new shop and now practice...
Read moreEdit: DO NOT sleep on this place! I was in the area and they have a 2 slice and drink combo for $9! Im stuffed, its freakin delish, filling, super tasty and satisfying! This pizza is so legit, nothing even comes close to them! Edit: Here is the big problem, SD doesnt know great pizza. The crust should be crisp on the bottom and charred, but Im told people complain about that, here. Shame. So much flavor in the char. They will make it "well done," if you ask and so, I suggest that you do! It willbe delectable!
My only complaint is its pretty cold in there to dine in Winter. The door is right into the restaurant. We come up from Canton, so dine in, is a must. As a girl from New Haven, CT I was raised on amazing pizza. These guys have a terrific sauce, a beautiful, chew of a dough, their mootz (mozzarella) is excellent quality. They are generous with their toppings and their prices are very, very reasonable.
Edit: update, last visit was much better. They had Red Hot Chili Peppers playing and thr two guys working, were rocking their job! We loved it!!!
Edit: we've been here more than a dozen times, now. I order with the exact specifications our family likes and they listen and do it! We sure appreciate that, because they are hands down, the best, most authentic pizza place in Sioux Falls, probably in all the Midwest. Try then and tell me I'm not...
