Halberstadt's at the Mall — Local services in Wayne Township

Halberstadt's at the Empire Mall has the greatest customer service I have ever experienced, all because of one man. I am a simple musical highschooler that performs at various events often weekly or biweekly, and one thing I never liked was my pants I performed in. While on a lunch break at one of my music-trips, I went into Halbertstadt's, curious as to what the store itself was. Upon entering the store, I met a man named Greg, who was polite throughout my time meeting him, and worked towards helping customers, both effectively and efficiently to find quality clothing that appealed to the buyer. Within 20 MINUTES, Greg helped me find, buy, and marked to be tailored, a very nice pair of pants for me. While Greg rung me up, it came to my realization that I wouldn't be able to get my pants tailored in time for my upcoming performance, nor would I have been able to take it to be tailored myself, because our school moved as a group from place to place. After telling Greg this, he simply offered to give me a temporary tailor, and said he would be more than willing to pick it up after my performance. Even after I warned him that I wouldn't be done until 9 to 10 at NIGHT, he still happily offered to grab them. The next day, I performed at South Dakota's All State Orchestra, probably my greatest performance I've ever been apart of, in the best pair of pants I could have ever asked for. Shortly after the performance, I met with Greg just in front of the building, passed the pants, and WITHIN A WEEK, had them delivered back to me, just in time for my next performance that happened two days later at Augustana's Honor Band. Greg, a simple worker at Halbertstadt's, displayed the highest and most sought after forms of customer service I have ever seen. A man like this should be wanted from any buisness because of his hard work, yet swift and effective skills at his craft. My 17yr old son needed a suit for prom, after pricing rentals at other places, I decided that between prom, senior pictures, and homecoming at minimum would make it worth purchasing rather than renting. Our first stop was Halberstadt’s. Leo was our associate, he was knowledgeable when it came to everything there is to know when it came to styling my son in a suit. He got his measurements EXACT. Shoulders, chest, arms, waist, and length on his pants. They have an in house tailor that did an incredible job. We were told 10 business days to have it done and within a week they had called and it was done and ready. 5 business days!!! We went in, tried it on and it fit perfectly! Not a single adjustment needed to be done. Now to the tie… I explained the color of the dress his girlfriend will be wearing and had a couples pictures of it in different lighting as the pictures looked so different than what it actually looks like in person, and what do you know, Leo goes off into the store and comes back with a tie that matches PERFECTLY!!! Not only does Leo know suits, but he knows style, fashion, and trends. So not only will my son look nice but he feels confident. Leo hit the mark with this one! Stylish yet sophisticated! Best part is, if he does grow a little bit before Homecoming there is room to let it out and having a tailor in house makes that a piece of cake! My husband and I stopped in just to check it out as he needed a navy blue suit for our son's wedding. My husband HATES shopping, and even looking at the mall makes him start to get crabby. He was already agitated as we were coming from a couple other places in the mall where he had been trying on several suit jackets, to no avail as he has a very long torso. The helper at Macy's suggested we go to Halberstadt's. We remembered we had had a great experience with Halberstadt's for a suit for our son for his junior year (winter formal, prom, homecoming royalty, prom, etc...) they were wonderful back then. They had assisted us to purchase the suit a bit longer on both the arms & legs in lieu of him growing, and they altered it for us and advised us to bring it back in when it was ready to be let out. So back to my husband 7 years later. We walked in and were greeted by a super helpful Gregg. He truly was awesome! Gregg was able to help us find the perfect suit for my husband in less than 15 minutes, and he made the whole process so easy. He also helped us find the perfect shirt and tie to go with our son's wedding colors. He really made the whole process so easy and a pleasant experience, which is saying a lot for my husband where trying on clothes is concerned....
