This place is truly awesome. Food was excellent. I had daily special of sausage, pepper, and onion sandwich. All cooked to perfect. I really enjoyed it. My daughter had a Cuban sandwich that outstanding. My son had a monster grilled cheese he could barely finish. My wife had probably the best item which was honey ham with gruyere cheese on a pretzel bun. It was off the charts good. It was great to support a local restaurant who is just plugging along trying to get by in this new Corona virus world. So take out only couldn’t enjoy the great meal in such a beautifully decorated restaurant. Please visit if they are open. This place is a gem.
Update... Stopped by again this place is excellent. Staff is so friendly. Food is great. We were back in Asheville and made trip to Waynesville. This was near the top of our list to visit again. Sandwiches are all great.
Update March 2021 Stopped by again. Shop is under new ownership. They seemed nice. My daughter got the Cuban and still loved it. My wife got the salad, that was good, but small. I got the Italian cold cut bomb. It was cut old Subway style. The sub was smaller than I expected for "Bomb". I knocked off a star because although all things tasted good, it wasn't as good as before. I still think it is worth visiting. It is just not a must visit...
Read moreMy wife and I used to eat here all the time under the original ownership but during our visits under the new owners we found the food to be not up to par so we stopped going. We were downtown today and decided to give them another try for a light lunch and ordered a cheese steak sub and a bowl of chili, and I advised that we were splitting the sub. The sub was hot and good, no complaints there. The chili was loaded with meat but had absolutely ZERO flavor. If bland chili is your thing then you will like it. Now here is the rub, when we got home and I went to file the receipt I noticed a $1.25 split plate fee that I was not informed of at the time of order. So a $1.25 to put a sub that already gets cut in half on a piece of wax paper in a plastic tray. I called and spoke to the owner who informed me that they don't have time to inform people of the fee when ordering (insert eye roll) and that the piece of wax paper cost them that much and its listed on the menu as a fee. (somehow I guess I missed that on the small 6 page tri-fold paper menu (insert second eye roll). If they are paying that much for a 8"x10" piece of wax paper, they need to hire a business counselor LOL. So in closing I would give this place the following ratings. Cleanliness: A Steak Sub: B Chili: C- Customer...
Read moreWe are from out of town wn visiting. I was really excited to try this considering the reviews. We ordered our lunch to go over the phone and my sandwich was a veggie with provolone cheese, mayo, lettuce, onion, tomato, black olives, oil and vinegar on white. I get it home and they put the hot sub on top of the cold ones so everything was now warm, there was no cheese, the onions and tomatoes were chopped like they belonged on a salad (never seen this before they are always sliced) and almost no lettuce to be found. I ended up throwing it away because it was so gross. Would not recommend and will not be eating there again. Save yourself and go next door to the sweet onion where the service and food...
