Alexandra Marks — Local services in West Chicago Township

Went here on a Monday afternoon with my two girl friends to get permanent anklets - we're from out of town, passed by, and decided to check them out. Cute store, but was met with some unprofessionalism with Lauren who charged my card for the 3 anklets before checking stock, to which they had none. She then proceeded to tell us to pick out a different chain, which we did and was about $3 more, and tried to charge the entire amount again rather than just the difference. After many back and forth, incorrect amounts, no apology with snide attitudes, and her commenting that if we got the other chain (the one that was sold out) we would have saved money because there was a glitch in their system (all while charging us extra for the chain we had to settle on), we finally paid the difference and got our chains done by Coral.

Giving 2 stars instead of 1 as Coral was great and patient with us as we each got our chains. HOWEVER, I also noticed hours later that my chain was not fully melded and had a small opening where it connected. Unfortunately, because I was flying out that day, I could not go back and just hoped it would stay on - it did not. Mine fell off only 2 DAYS later. I was the last of the 3 to have mine melded, so it did seem a bit like mine was being rushed. My other two girl friends have had no problems with theirs so far.

Original review - 2 stars: Went here to get a permanent anklet put on while I was in town for a work trip. The people there are super nice, and I was happy with the selection, but my anklet fell off after 8 days. When my boyfriend was looking at it after i got home, he pointed out that the anklet was not fully connected at the linking points. Super disappointed and huge waste of money :( Seems like other people have had similar experiences- would definitely recommend passing on this place.

EDIT- Allie was able to help me out and will get a new anklet put on me next time I'm in town :) Still bummed that this happened, but A+++ customer service!!

EDIT 2: WORST customer service! Literally so disgusting and gross, and I am extremely regretful that I ever went here. I booked my next trip to Chicago, called Alexandra Marks to get my replacement jewelry, and they completely rescinded the replacement offer. Instead of honoring the fact that Allie said that I could get my jewelry replaced (14k gold, diamond baguette), they now offered 50% off replacement. I already paid $500 in my appointment for a piece of jewelry that feel off within a week- there is absolutely no way I am spending any more money with this company. My 2 sisters and I all got bracelets (1 ancklet) here almost 1 month ago. Our experience in the store was great considering we were walk-in’s. However, for the amount of money we spent, IT IS NOT WORTH IT. This is not quality jewelry. Not even a month and the charm on mine is completely tarnished. I have other permanent bracelets that were less expensive, that I’ve had almost a year and they look better than the ones I got from this store early November. They didn’t have much of a selection when it came to the charms and us wanting 3 of the same, 1 in rose gold. We went with the North Star charm at the associates suggestion. All 3 of us have been poked by this tiny charm in the most uncomfortable, annoying ways. We don’t want to take them off, as they are meaningful to us and they were expensive.
