Skincare by Ellen — Local services in West Chicago Township

I've gotten facials in NYC, LA, Austin, and Chicago - Skincare by Ellen, by far, was the worst experience I had. There are other facial spas in the Chicago area that I would much rather recommend. My experience revealed concerning business practices:

• I had already purchased their "New Customer Signature Facial”. When I reached out with pictures of my skin concerns, instead of showing empathy or using this consultation opportunity, they immediately tried to upsell me to their acne bootcamp series without even addressing my skin condition photos. A client reaching out with skin concerns deserves empathy first, not an immediate sales pitch.

• When I got a flat tire in Niles, I went above and beyond trying to make my appointment (communicating with them 1.5 hours before hand).Then I drove 40 minutes on my spare tire to their clinic, all because they were so insistent about charging a late cancellation fee.

• Despite this extraordinary effort to accommodate them during an emergency, they showed zero appreciation for a customer trying this hard to make it work.

• While they said 5 minutes late would be fine, they emphasized having another client after me, making it clear their priorities was how to get me in & out to get to their next client of the day.

• When traffic worsened and I decided to cancel to avoid rushing through the treatment, they charged me $60 and immediately tried to reschedule - showing more interest in securing future business than understanding the situation.

• Throughout this entire experience, their focus seemed to be solely on fees and booking rather than customer care or understanding during an emergency situation.

In total, these were interactions that demonstrated their profit-focused mindset: first pushing expensive packages before addressing skin concerns, then showing no empathy during a car emergency while threatening fees, and finally charging me despite my significant efforts to make the...

I would highly recommend seeing Ellen and Trinity at Skincare by Ellen!!! When I saw them for the first time, I was really struggling with my acne (have had acne my whole life) and felt so hopeless especially with having my wedding coming up. Within the first couple of weeks of doing the Acne Bootcamp, I noticed my skin was starting to improve greatly. Ellen and Trinity were super communicative throughout the Acne Bootcamp and provided me with a lot of psycho-education surrounding acne and what factors contribute to producing acne. Both Ellen and Trinity were always willing to answer any questions I had at any point in time. They have completely changed my skin for the better and I haven't felt this confident in my skin in a very long time! I went to Trinity for the BioRePeel. I've had several chemical peels in the past, but wanted to try this peel as it's less evasive and no downtime as with other the peels. I knew I was going to love the peel as Trinity was putting it on my face. It felt hydrating, moisturizing and didnt have a chemical feel or smell like the other peels. Well, I was right, I loved it! The best part is that I've tried every product, peel and skincare under the sun to get rid of the melasma under my eyes that look like dark circles, and now their nearly gone. No kidding.
