Would give zero stars if possible. The place is really beautiful and most of the staff is friendly. Unfortunately despite my three separate visits to try to love this place I just didn’t. The first time I was rushed, asked to pay before the services were finished, and half of the lights were turned off before we were done. My manicure was bulky, sloppy and the edges were not cleaned up. I did love my pedicure which was the same color when I left but that only lasted one day. The chrome entirely came off within a day. I spent $200 for an eyebrow wax, the manicure, pedicure and tip.When I reached out to them personally to avoid leaving a bad review I was welcomed to come back to get it fixed. The person I talked to seems really sincere and apologetic. She gave me a a wait time of 15 minutes but I ended up waiting over an hour. She did check on me multiple times and apologized for the wait. However she tried to change my mind about my pedicure looking fine despite it not being the color I paid for. The over hour wait time pushed back the time I had available and this caused them to have to rush my manicure yet again. I did appreciate being out with a manicure I was happier with but again the job was rushed, and not neat. I left with nail polish still around my fingers to attend a wedding in two hours. I was also able to get extensions at no charge even though I did offer to pay for them before leaving. The chrome’s on my nails lasted about three days. Fast forward to 3/4 weeks later, I went back to try it again. I simply wanted both the mani and pedi removed. I did give them the wrong information of what I had on my manicure which caused me to go through 3 employees. While getting it removed with the last older male, he lost control of the filer machine thing and dropped it on the acetone cotton he had just removed from my nails and it splashed into my eyes. He did apologize, and my eye feels fine now. Eventually all was removed but less than 24 hours later, I bumped one nail and it just snapped from the nail bed. Never in my life have my nails been so sensitive despite multiple no chips I’ve done in the past. I believe this was from them over filing them. I spent roughly less than $40 with tip. I got a regular mani from Eric, who is EXCELLENT, and that cost $25 !!!! in Wicker Park this price is a steal!!! My friends got non chip gel nail from TYTY, who is PHENOMENAL, and she was extremely happy with it. This spa's ambiance is very relaxing, clean and welcoming. The owner Sandy was very pleasant and taking care of every single one of us. She revealed that this spa has only been opening for about 6 weeks, and their main focus is purely the customers' satisfaction while still searching for the best nail technicians to come work for her. Her best technicians with well over a decade of experience include TyTy, Cherry, Annie, and Eric. I had first hand experience with Tyty and Eric's amazing skills so this speaks volume to Luxo Nail Spa emphasis on bringing the best experience to their customers. The spa also gives you the 7 days guarantee for the non chip gel set, which means that you can come back within 7 days if your nail set is messed up and they will fix them you at no cost and no questions asked. So, to the unhappy reviewers, do come back and give this place a second chance to make it right. I applaud Sandy's effort to go way and beyond for her customers. Business owners like her show up everyday to work so she can honestly earn the approval of the customers!! As for me, my $25 regular nail set is still very much intact after 7 days lol so I have absolutely no complaints here. I literally can’t recommend him enough. going to a new salon always feels like a gamble but i’m so glad I tried this place out - I found my new go to guy.) EDIT: I completely take this review back, if negative stats were an option I would give that. although the tech that did my first service still deserves recognition, I am completely appalled and taken a back by the poor customer service I received this week. They did not put me with the tech I requested and not only did the tech that did my current set do a horrendous job, the management here is completely disregarding my requests of a PARTIAL refund. I left with uncured splotchy gel and crap encapsulated in them and the worst part is that these are for a wedding I am a part of, and the only solution they’re offering me is a redo for when I COME BACK from said wedding trip, which at that point what is the point!? I have heard from people I know that they had very similar experiences of techs being so rough and rushed with their nails.
