SpaDerma — Local services in West Chicago Township

I’ve had a great experience with Spaderma and Kat. As soon as you walk in, the front desk attendant is welcoming and helpful. I typically arrive early and sit on the couch until my time, and then I’m in and out in a matter of mere minutes. For reference, I’ve never been waxed or anything before, so it was a bit intimidating baring all (kit and caboodle) to a complete stranger, but I decided to go with laser hair removal. Kat was incredibly professional and never made me feel uncomfortable. She was easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. I’ve had 5 sessions of Brazilian laser hair removal and am so happy I did! It does hurt in some spots more than others, and my first two sessions were def the more painful but it’s so fast it doesn’t even matter. It eases up later as the hair thins. I never felt like Spaderma was trying to pressure me to pay for more sessions (though they do inform you of their members pricing as an option which can suit others with more reoccurring treatments). I had bought discounted sessions during one of their sales and on my last day, they kindly reminded me that it was my last prepaid session, which I appreciated as they do have my card on file and could have just charged me full price without telling me if I had booked another session (I’m waiting to see if I need another session). It was nice being able to communicate that I wanted to wait and see if I needed a final session and see if any hairs grow back before deciding, and was met with quick agreement. I highly recommend Spaderma and Kat for laser hair removal ! I have yet to try any of their other treatments but I am looking forward to one of their skin treatments...

It looks like the vast majority of people have a good experience here, but personally I did not.

I came in on a Saturday to get a refresh of Botox, I had gotten some previously at a different med spa in River north, but decided to try SpaDerma as they were closer to my home and had good reviews. The appointment itself went well, my injector did a good job of making me feel relaxed and comfortable as I don’t love needles.

I ended up not being a huge fan of the results, too much Botox was placed in my forehead and it significantly lowered my eyebrows which I did not like. I was very upset by the results and admittedly came into the office crying. Although they did see me right away there was no apology on the med spa’s end, no expression of concern or sympathy, and no refund.

Sometimes, you get a product or a service, and it’s not done to completion preferred by the customer. Sometimes your food at a restaurant comes cold, or a piece of clothing comes ripped. But it’s how a business handles their mistakes that is truly what matters and I am extremely disappointed by the unprofessional nature of how Spa Derma treated a patient who came in crying to their offices because they were so upset by the results. I don’t blame the injector, but rather, clearly how unprofessional this business is run. As a former business owner myself, I would not comprehend a reality where I would not express sincere regret and issue a refund to a customer unhappy with their results.

Britney was AMAZING! I went to SpaDerma for laser treatment not knowing what to expect. After my consultation I ended up going with the Clear & Brilliant package because I felt like it would better suit my needs. As a POC I'm always nervous about getting any kind of semi invasive facial treatment due to the risk of the provider not having any experience with darker skin and having complications. This was not the case at SpaDerma. I loved my esthetician Britney! She was so warm and kind, she listened to my desires and concerns. On top of being super professional she was very knowledgeable on what we as POC need to treat different skin issues. I immediately felt less anxious. The treatment was just about painless, quick and easy. Before I left Britney went over post treatment and educated me on what I would need to do to achieve the results I crave. She even gave me her contact to follow up with any questions or concerns. I just have to say this, if you're a POC, SpaDerma is a great place. They have good customer service, great prices compared to other places I've been and the decor and ambiance of this place is really nice and relaxing.
