I had the most amazing experience here!! Emily not only brightened my day with her cheerful personality, but was genuinely excited to do my makeup, and find products that I’ll love. I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to shopping for, and applying makeup and so It can feel so intimidating to walk into a store and ask what feels like are silly questions, but Emily not only knows her stuff when it comes to skincare and makeup, but made me feel so comfortable to be honest about what I think I would use. It is evident that Emily loves what she does and she made me feel excited and empowered to try my new makeup. Several other employees came by to make sure I was finding everything and having a good experience. I left feeling like, “makeup is so fun and I can’t wait to use my new products .” If you need to brighten your day a little, let the lovely people at Blue Mercury in West Loop...

I think I’ve been to every Blue Mercury in the city and this is definitely the worst. The staff are totally inattentive and they don’t help out at all. They just judge. I have to say they are not very well informed about skin care at all, and, coming from someone who is, I just find it frustrating that they try to push a couple limited products on you with very little rationale. I’m talking basic cosmetic chemistry knowledge.

Also, their entire sunscreen selection is placed on a window that gets extreme direct sun, and very hot, which I’m sure causes the product to expire prematurely. I would definitely put a shade over that window, it makes me too uncomfortable to buy anything from that corner...

She’s incredibly knowledgeable and always takes the time to make thoughtful recommendations, ensuring I leave with the products that are just right for me.
