Read moreI've been on the hunt for legit BBQ (not the Chicago special of sweet sauce & turkey tips) for awhile now, and I'm so mad at myself for not coming here sooner! The inside of the restaurant is very laid back, think a picnic (community bench seating) and a bar in one. To order you stand in line, the workers take your order & your food is portioned & handed to you on a tray by the time you get to the cashier. Drinks, sauces, and a hand washing station in the middle, with a dedicated walkthrough to keep the area clear. The workers are friendly, cheerful, and kind. Pricing is very reasonable. I got the Wyld Child (3 oz pulled pork 3 oz brisket on a basic roll) which comes with a side of slaw. The slaw is great, it is not like a traditional mayo dressing, instead it is vinegar based, really refreshing. The sandwich itself was delicious. The brisket was soft, juicy, & tender with the perfect amount of fat, no sauce needed. I liked the pulled pork less, it was a little dry, but it goes perfectly with the sweet BBQ sauce. I also got the side of banana pudding which was divine! The pudding itself is thick & rich like a custard & lined with specks of vanilla bean, definitely homemade. It comes with nilla wafers between layers of pudding & banana. The layered wafers are like ladyfingers from soaking up the moisture & they top it with whipped cream and 2 more nilla wafers. I definitely will be returning, if I lived in the neighborhood I'd be a regular.
Only downsides:
Not really disability friendly. To get to the restaurant is a cobblestone path & there is an awning over the front door. I did not ask as I came on a busy Friday night, so I am unsure if the workers would be able to assist by holding your tray for you. The seating is primarily bench seating with high top chairs surrounding the bar.
No cost-effective options for trying multiple things. There are a handful of solo items, but no combos with multiple meats (excluding two sandwiches).

Read more⛔️ Don’t believe the reviews. Don’t waste your time and money. So over priced $90 for my wife and I and the food is completely mediocre and unfortunately for us everything on our platter was cold also so I immediately went to speak to one of the staff members whose name was Peter and he asked me what he could do for us, I told him whatever he thought was Fair would be OK. I was stressed for time because of a doctors appointment and couldn’t wait for them to remake the order so I was expecting him to maybe say he would take something off the bill when he offered to comp our whole meal which I thought was actually the proper thing to do, but when he let another employee know named Jennifer I believe may have been a manager she wanted to come and inspect our food? When she arrived at our table, she proceeded to take the food away from my wife while She was still eating. So I informed her it’s a not proper to tell someone you’re gonna comp their meal and then proceed to take the food away, she made it fell like we were trying to get away with eating for free? for crying out loud We paid $90 for a party of 2 and food sucked, I could understand that, It is what it is, but who wants to eat cold barbecue? When I tried to explain to her, what she did was not comping a meal, but actually very rude and Strange She kept talking over me Rudely claiming that that’s part of Green Street smoked meats way of doing things? No restaurant comps A meal then takes it away from you While you’re in the process of eating it. Jennifer obviously doesn’t know anything about working at restaurant or customer service. Peter was wonderful about the situation, he Hurried up and made our order to go anyway after receiving the full refund what a great guy. If Green Street smoke meats wants to do itself a favor, they should get rid of Jennifer ASAP! And...
