They have interesting clothes but the vibe is very young and none of which is at all cheap for Chinese-made clothing. I've seen stretch pants for like 95.00. You're joking.
Salesgirls are nice enough. They have some rocks if you like crystals. Maybe 6 varieties, 3 for 10.00. At least half of which are chipped (eye roll) due to being banged around on mirrored glass trays.
I didn't see much L, much less XL. So unless you spend a lot of time regurgitating in bathrooms, you're unlikely to find your size. I personally am really over the complete lack of normal sizes at stores and being banished to the internet to buy anything, lest your normal sized vibe ruin their rep. Some stores won't even give you free returns. I think we should boycott until they put up normal woman sizes. They'd probably sell a lot more if the clothes have good fit. Rather than relying on us being too lazy to return something or imaging we'll be 117 pounds again to make money.
Some stores (White house, Black Market: talking to you) will require 3 different sizes for me: 12 in pants, 14 in jacket, 16 petite in a fitted dress. They never have a 14 jacket or 16P dress to try on, so I've NEVER bought any of those from them). They are also notoriously overpriced for inferior-made and tailored Chinese stuff.
Right on that block is the West Loop library, a Walgreen's, a McDonald's and the very dog-friendly Politan Row (major points from me for that alone, heard food was good, too). Paking isn't fun, but if you were already there or just get there around 6, you can find free parking.
They do close at 7. Not as accessible to public transportation as one might like.
They do the bohemian thing, so if you're under 25 and a size 2 (or M), you'll love this store. If you're big on top (over a B), spaghetti straps are not your friend, lol. Lots of spaghetti straps and halter/tube tops here.
I would hunt and wait for a sale. Some things in the store are NOT online. It'll still be a bit overpriced, but whatever I touched was at least...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to Free People on Randolph Street in Chicago since it first opened in early 2017, and it has always felt like more than just a retail store. Itās honestly like stepping into a little escape. The perfect treat to break up work meetings or get out of the house and get cute. The space is beautiful and cozy, but itās the team that makes it magical.
Recently I had a complicated return and purchase situation, and Jordan helped me through every step of it. She was so patient and smart and just got it. She knew the systems so well and communicated everything clearly. I donāt think it wouldāve gotten done without her. She stuck with me until everything was resolved and made it all feel easy and calm.
And honestly, it doesnāt end with Jordan. Everyone who works there is amazing. I always joke that theyāre like my therapists and besties. We catch up on life, find the cutest outfits together, and they always listen and make me feel like Iām shopping with a group of best friends. Every visit feels personal and special.
This store has been a part of my life for years and I always walk out feeling better than when I walked in. I always recommend this FP West Loop store to anyone who wants a place that feels warm and fun and full of good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGenerally VERY VERY overpriced for stuff made in China. 98.00-120.00 for leggings??
You can't be serious.
20.00 for sunglasses. A bit high.
I also saw ZERO in XL. I'm hardly morbidly obese at 160 lbs, lol. And large chested at 36DD. I find that offensive; as it's intentionally keeping us (the majority of women) to say "Well, you can go online..." Like we're circus freaks.
38.00 for costume earrings that I'm assuming are not surgical steel for people who get allergies and to prevent corrosion? Way too much $$.
With everything you sell being made in China, there's very little cost. It would make sense to deal in volume and not alienate customers.
What do I know, I've only had a business for 30 years, lol. And should mention: the bohemian look is hardly new; see 1968. And it went out because it was hot (polyester) and impractical.
I saw a few polyester short robes that also weren't cheap. Mind you, I bought a real silk one in Lincoln Park (very high rent overhead) for only 50.00. These had to be a good 25% more for scratchy and hot poly.
Materials that breathe and are soft and reasonably priced in more sizes would naturally increase...
