When everyone kept telling me, “You have to check out Hamburger University!” I thought, alright, let’s make this a walkable, global foodie moment. And yes—the menu? Total passport vibes. Japan, France, burgers from all over… I was ready to take my taste buds on a world tour without leaving Chicago. ✈️🌍
But then… the sparkle kind of faded. The place could seriously use a little more TLC in the cleanliness department. Like, I’m all for global eats, but not global dust, dirty and nasty tables with leftover food. 😬
As for the service? Let’s just say it didn’t make the honor roll. I expected some Big Mac-level enthusiasm, but instead I got side-of-fries energy—lukewarm and just going through the motions. For a place dubbed University, the hospitality didn’t exactly graduate with honors.
Fun idea, cool menu, but overall? Not quite a golden arches moment for me. Wouldn’t fail it, but wouldn’t rush back either.
PS: I forgot to take photos coz it was a quick grab and take away order. When you come here, don’t expect a high level of attention, details or experience. Just a normal local McDonald’s place.

They said one word “sorry”, and got me another cup of orange juice. I said no, I want a refund, they said ok, TOOK BACK the orange juice just gave me, and issued a refund of ONLY the orange juice.
The orange juice money is supposed to be refunded to me alright? Cuz a bug is inside. I want a refund of the whole order, they said ok, take all the food back to them. When they saw the food, they said they could not issue refund of the food that’s been touched.
Then I said I want to take a picture of my original orange juice with the bug, they said they already threw it away.
After I keep insisting, the manager called his manager, and finally agreed to refund the whole order to me. No sorry words said then. No good attitude. He acted like I’m being mean on them. The manager of the day can’t even speak English or understand what I said, he needs a lady to translate for him. Such a shame McDonald hired someone who cant even properly speak and understand...
