Emporium Arcade Bar — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I went here for a friend's 30th birthday party. They didn't reserve a spot but we found so tables not in use towards the back and there were "reserved" signs nowhere to be seen. About ten minutes later, what turns out to be the manager (of all people) comes up and starts moving the tables aggressively against the wall, despite several people in our party sitting at them. She got in our face and told us that the tables were not to be used and as I was using one of them to sign the FREAKING BIRTHDAY CARD she moves the table out from under me and tells me to use my knee instead. I proceeded to ask her why she was in such a bad mood as she continued to forceably move the tables away. Another party guest notices and tries approaching her, but before he could say anything, she physically moves him out of his way and spills his drink all over her. She stormed away after that but came back a few minutes later to clean up the drink she spilled. A friend and I were talking about how I was frustrated with what happened and she decided to interrupt our conversation by yelling at us, "YOU WERE IN THE WRONG. GET OVER IT." This has always been my favorite place until last night I was blatantly denied entrance after already being inside and seen having a good time with some family members I was meeting with after 10+ years . Was having fun playing pool and taking pics in the photo booth then had to step out to answer an emergency phone call and when I tried to go back in the guys at the door where being extremely rude telling me to leave without giving me a reason as to why yet allowing other people in at the same time .. i was being respectful towards them asking if they could please let my family members know I’m with them and that I’m outside as they were in town from Mexico and don’t speak Spanish at all and I was basically trying to show them how nice emporium is yet they claimed I was lying and insisted I should leave again without any reason as to why.. honestly this was the worst experience I ever had and I would like to speak to a manager in regards because I felt discriminated against. Out of all the bars in town I always felt like emporium was that home comforting place until this happened. I never been the type to start trouble as I like others just want to have a nice chill time but im baffled by how I was treated on...

I went here last new year's Eve and had a nice time with friends. This place has incredibly fast service and friendly bartenders. Walked up to a very crowded bar and was served and checked out in less than 5 minutes despite the huge crowd of people up at the bar. The bartenders even served us small glasses of free champagne at midnight to celebrate and there was a place to serve yourself water as you pleased. There is no table service and the tables are picnic tables. This was perfectly fine for my group of 7 who just wanted to hang out. It has arcade games, pool tables, a room to dance in, a bar, and even a bus up in the front. It was a nice place to hang out at for a few hour with no need to jump from bar to bar considering all of the things there was to do. Drinks were reasonably priced for the city and there was a fairly good selection. When the bar closed they were kind of yelling at people to get out and they close off the two halves of the place which was a bit hectic when trying to gather your group before heading home.
