Slumberland Furniture — Local services in West Des Moines

Searched mattresses for almost a year and just got confused with reviews. After a year or more of putting it off because of confusion and not wanting to waste money and be stuck with a bed I hate I decided to go to Slumberland in WDM and actually got on the beds and found out for myself what was comfortable. All said and done I paid a little more than the online sales I saw but after reading the horror stories about delivery and trying to get service for problems with the bases and exchange issues when the bed they chose wasn’t comfortable my only other option was to try locally. I walked in and was approached by Sales associate Kirk Peterson and told him I was looking for a bed. No pressure at all. Friendly, no sales gimmicks and told me what was good and bad in his opinion. It coincided with what I had read. He left me alone to check out what they had and when I had questions he answered them without any double talk. Bought what I felt comfortable with, got a fair deal, offered me a floor model of the base for more than half off and I have a store that is local and I can go to if there is a problem. Haven’t got the bed yet but delivery is soon and I’ll add to this after it’s complete and I’ve slept on it for a while. I got a Searly hybrid with an adjustable frame. So far happy with my decision to spend the extra money on something I spend 1/3 of my life on. Glad to finally see my backbreaking bed of 20 years go away. Very large showroom. Gina was there. Gina came to greet me, just as I got on the showroom. I told her what I wanted. She guided me to go see a lot of recliners Now it's pricey, but with every penny. She never once made me feel uncomfortable. She was so nice. She treated me like a member of her family. She never once pushed me into buying anything, and I loved that. I don't like feeling I pressured. I would have left, if that had been the case. She listened to what I was saying, and explaind the chair to me. I am disabled, and wanted a recliner that had heat in it. The one I chose had so many bells an whistles. It even laid down as as level bed. I liked that too. Sometimes I fall asleep in the recliner I have. It's has no bells nor whistles. She was very knowledgeable, and answered every question. There also was a male there, and I think he was the manager. He was very nice also, and also answered questions my questions as well. Now, she told me that I couldn't get the recliner I chosen until August. I was ok with that, as my old recliner still works, and I do have heating pads I use. I would recommend Slumberland to anyone. Loads of furniture to choose from. If I, in the future, I would come back to slumberind if needed different furniture. They also have a good payment plan. I had a great time there! I never had that, and when my husband alive, I ordered from a catalog. BIG MISTAKE! The couch is still hard as a rock, 13 years later! I can't sit on it, because I have a bad back and fibromyalgia. I went to Slumberland in search of a bed after having the worst year of my life due to a fire, 3 falls, 2 back procedures, 1credit card stolen and many other things that just kept coming at me. I worked with Kyle Hunt which was amazing. He did not just try to make a sale. Kyle actually wanted to help me get the right bed for me. He asked about my issues. Which I had not had a good night sleep in probably 10 months due to pain sleeping and night terrors. We also talked about how sleep can affect your health which I have definitely noticed. Kyle was very knowledgeable about all of it. He could have sold me the most expensive bed there (which I was willing to buy the second I laid on it) but he didn’t, he made me try different ones until we found the one that we were both sure would be best for me. I think it was the third one. I was so happy with the bed I had chosen I decided to also look for a recliner. Well guess what the same thing happened again. I found a recliner and because I did just get into my new home I need furniture. I could have got by with just a recliner but Kyle was able to get me a power recliner and couch with recliner on both ends for right around the same price as the one recliner that I had chosen. Which means I not only have furniture for my living room now but also my family room downstairs. I live by God will NEVER give anything I can not handle without him but he will test me and oh boy was I tested last year.
