ETA: The first paragraph is no longer true – Google finally accepted my edit and added a listing for the grocery store itself. I’ve edited my review accordingly. I’d also like to apologize for my second paragraph, which was way way too harsh. Every commercial pharmacy is like that and there’s little the pharmacists can do about it. I still blame the store for peddling in complete quackery though.
They did kinda screw up big time and somehow filled the same prescription twice (it had no refills has some abuse potential) instead of filling the prescription I did send in a refill for and actually needed. I had to explain it to them several times before they stemmed to understand. Mistakes happen, so I’m not mad but a pharmacy needs to be really really careful about that kind of thing.
Why is there a listing for just the pharmacy, which seems to be cthe proxy for the store as a whole, as well as listings for their fuel center, the Arni’s inside, and the Redbox inside but no listing for the actual store? You know, the thing that the vast majority of the reviews and pictures on here are in reference to, that takes up 90% of the real estate, the main operation? Why won’t Google recognize its existence? This is so annoying.
The pharmacy is overpriced and full of homeopathic junk that the pharmacist will straight-up tell you doesn’t do what it claims. I don’t get how pharmacists can stomach working in stores that knowingly sell fake and even dangerous substances masquerading as “cures” (but...
Read moreWest Lafayette Payless pharmacy especially the drive through is a disaster. The old non working drive up window is still on the side of the building to add to the confusion of where the drive up window is and the signage to the drive up "window" is none existent. The booth your drive up to is hidden behind trees where it is difficult to spot. I sat in the line behind another customer with a corded phone from the booth into their car so I assumed they were being helped. My kid was in the back seat with an ear infection so I was trying to avoid going inside. After 15mins I wasn't going to wait in the drive through so I went inside with my sick kid. Turns out the pharmacy is just closed for lunch as i walked in the store and everything is locked up. I thought great why couldn't have posted the hours on the drive up. Walking back outside I see that the drive up says pharmacy hours behind the person's vehicle still waiting at the drive up so only the person sitting at the drive up could see but. Long story short I'm changing pharmacies and groceries. The west lafayette payless grocery has always been too congested and is a logistical nightmare. The whole point of operating a massive grocery chain is to make things more convenient and more affordable to customers. This store just forgot the first half. They need to take notes from the Greenbush payless. I've always had a better experience at that store even if it is a further drive...
Read moreFor a big-box grocer in the Tippecanoe-County area, this grocery store offers the most diverse selection of goods including Boar's Head deli products, other higher-end charcuterie and ready-to-eat/meals-to-go items, international foods, Arnie's pizza & salads, and Starbucks. The produce is over 99% of the time in fine condition and varied (I have found more obscure vegetables I could not find in other major big-box retailers/grocers in the area there). It is also kept pleasantly clean and organised for the most part. The store managers are also kind and patient even when they are dealing with chaos (especially Brian/Bryan [if I have his name correct]) -- they try to help you to the best of their abilities.
If you choose not to enter your store to make your purchases, their order pick-up team also try hard to help ensure your online drive-up order is copasetic (Asia and Octavia are especially quite awesome).
I highly recommend shopping at the Pay-Less/Kroger on Sagamore Parkway (West Lafayette, IN) for a diverse selection of foods (in terms of 'refinement' and cultural diversity), high-quality produce, and excellent...
