I started going here at the end of August. I have been 3 times and gotten my nails done each time by Daniel. I would recommend calling ahead and making an appointment if you plan on getting your nails done here, but even if you do you can expect to wait. The reason for this low rating is primarily because of the most recent time I visited (4 days ago). I called ahead of time to make an appointment with Daniel. I ASKED him what time would be convenient for me to come in. He TOLD me to come in at 3pm. I was running late so I called exactly at 3 and let them know, and all they said on the phone was “okay.” I continued to rush to get there and arrived at 3:08 only to find Daniel hard at work on someone else’s nails. I admit, I was late. But I did call to let them know that I would be late, and at that time they could have definitely told me Daniel was already doing someone else’s nails and to come later. When I showed up I was hopeful he might have been finishing up, but evidently he was just getting started because I then waited over 90 minutes for him to get started on my nails.
After waiting ALL that time he had the audacity to do a rushed job on my nails. I kept having to bring things to his attention to fix, and it shouldn’t be that way at all. I will admit I liked the design of my nails the first 2 times that I went, but the quality wasn’t there. Now, only 4 days after getting a fill my nails are already chipping. The complete lack of respect for my time, coupled with the less than adequate quality of work has sent me on a search for a better establishment to patron for my nails. I would also like to note, I would be willing to extend some grace for being double booked, but he treated my mother the exact same way the day before. She made an appointment with Daniel, came in at the scheduled time and then was asked to come in later...Unfortunately when she came back later Daniel still had her wait and he did a poor job on her nails as well. He needs to do a better job of planning and scheduling, and also improve the quality of his work.
I wish it was not so difficult to find someone you can really trust to do your nails- someone who will do good work EVERY time without prompting, and also someone who will respect your time.
I will NOT be...
Read moreI want to share my experience for anyone considering visiting this salon. I requested a dip powder manicure, and unfortunately, things went downhill from the start. The manicurist did not use the correct color I had selected, and the dip powder application was done incorrectly from beginning to end. It was applied in a way typically used for nail extensions or tips—despite my clear request for dip on my natural nails. Throughout the appointment, I was repeatedly encouraged to get tips added, even after I explained that I preferred to keep my natural nails, as I have done successfully many times at other salons. It felt like my preferences were being overlooked, which was frustrating. There was also a significant language barrier, and I had to use Google Translate in order to communicate basic details of what I wanted. While I understand and respect that not everyone is fluent in English, it did make it difficult to clarify expectations and ensure we were on the same page. I believe clearer communication upfront could have helped avoid the outcome I experienced. The most concerning part is the damage done to my natural nails. When I returned to my regular nail tech back home to have the set removed, we were both shocked. She immediately pointed out that my natural nails had been severely over-drilled, to the point where applying anything further would be unsafe. The dark red marks on my nail beds were indicators of excessive drilling, and during the removal process, one of my weakened nails even cracked in half. I’m now in a healing process, working to restore the health of my nails, close the bleeding crack, and strengthen the damaged nail beds. Had the manicurist communicated that he was not comfortable or experienced with applying dip powder on natural nails, I would have appreciated the honesty and chosen a different service or salon. Instead, I’m left dealing with the consequences of poor technique and a lack of transparency. If zero stars were an option, I would choose that. Unfortunately, one star will...
Read moreI called on Thursday to make an appointment for Saturday for me and my bff. I just moved to West Lafayette and was in need of a full set and my girl needed a fill and two popped off nails done out in Plymouth regularly. When i called to make the appointment i also asked for pricing. Daniel said $45 for full set acrylic gel nails and 40-45 for fill and broken nails with gel polish.. Walking in the scenery was very clean, nice and even luxurious. I bite my nails so they we real short but i have never had someone put acrylic over my real nail, then the tip and then the acrylic again. Note he (Kevin, so he said his name is) only applied this process to two or three of my nails. I tried to ask but neither Kevin, nor the other lady who was taking care of my friend really understood me. It was frustrating to say the least but i went along because maybe these were techniques that were going to beneficial for my nails and communication maybe wasn't that important. NOT!!! Long story short, at some point Kevin asked me if I liked the shape and i said no, he giggled and continued to finish up my nails. I didn't take pictures of what they looked like out the door cause i literally asked for a new nail file, paid $51.75 + i still gave him a 5.00 tip and ran outside to file them myself. My friend called this our worst nail experience yet to date. She paid $45 only after while in the process of filing her nails another nail was popped off and the young lady working on her wanted to charge her for a third nail. I asked for square round and what he did was leave me with block shaped nails that over flowed out side the shape of my actual nail/finger. Horrendous I tell you. In the pictures i have added with this post you can see the quick shape up i did to make them look somewhat decent. The left pinky finger nail is so lifted it looks like it is going to pop off. You can also see how there is acrylic in the inside of tip towards the top of my finger. Just know, we will not be visiting this nail...
