I was unable to use the free airport shuttle provided by the hotel - when I tried calling after my flight had landed, the phone rang for 5 minutes with no answer, at which point I gave up and just got an Uber to the hotel. It took nearly an hour to be checked in - the front desk staff had me take a seat because they were "trying to figure out a room" for me, which was really concerning because I had reserved my room several weeks prior to this. I'm not from the West Palm Beach area, and had flown in for a work conference, and for a solid 20 minutes I was concerned I would have to find alternative accommodations. When I actually got into my room, I was immediately hit with a strong chemical smell - I believe the carpets in the room had been cleaned that day, as they were still damp. This scent did not fully go away over the course of my 4-night stay, although it did diminish - several of my clothing items now have that scent to them though, and I'm hoping it goes away after washing them. What was probably the worst part of this experience was that my bedding was damp when I got into my room, as if it hadn't been dried fully. I went to the front desk and asked for fresh bedding, which they were happy to supply, but the comforter she handed me was also slightly damp. She did offer to throw it in the dryer for me for 20 minutes, which was appreciated. Whoever did laundry just might have pulled the bedding before it was completely dry. Outside of this, the room was clean enough (except for a gross looking stain on the desk chair), although more rundown than I was expecting (and the faucet in the shower was continuously dripping throughout my stay), and the breakfast provided was fine. The woman who was stocking the breakfast stations was very sweet and told me good morning each day of my stay. I don't know her name, but I appreciated the gesture. The internet was also very slow. At an average of $200 a night, I feel like my company paid an exorbitant amount for a room that wasn't even worth $100 a night. This is not at all what I would call a...
Read more"You get what you pay for.", Or so the saying goes. That is not the case with this place. Let's set aside the issues caused by the hurricane renovation. They couldn't help they had water damage. Parking was not a terrible headache. They seem to have a large parking lot and we were about to find a spot easily. The building is conveniently located near the exit off the highway so that's a plus. Landscaping of the grounds was nicely done. Let's talk about the room. I'm going to venture a guess and say the odd smell was perhaps from the renovation or the water damage. It definitely wasn't a nice clean, fresh smell. The bed was comfy and appeared to be clean. We aren't weird people with black lights so I assume it was ok. Modertly furnished but I wasn't expecting much nor do I really care about that aspect. Bathroom was relatively clean except for some water damage in the corners. Towels were clean. Half of our hallway was covered in remodeling plastic. It looks like black trash bags taped every where. No carpet in the hallways. We stayed a Saturday into a Sunday, and the team doing the remodel decided to tack down carpet in the hallway outside our room at 8am. I would think the staff would've made them aware of guests and maybe had them avoid that until after check out. The "Continental" breakfast consisted of juice/coffee, toast/bagel, and a waffle machine. To staff in the dining area were not unpleasant but not friendly. All this wouldn't bother me if it had been mentioned but nowhere did it say under construction or remodel. Plus they still had the audacity to charge $150/night for this room. I would think that they would lower their price during the remodel to make it for the inconvenience to their guests. I do have to say this though, the front desk staff is really nice. They were always smiling and asking us how we were, offering to help with things. All in all, it wasn't a horrible stay but it definitely didn't go great. The ease and convenience of the location being next to the highway is pretty much all of this place has...
Read moreThey put me on a room that did not have a working shower or working phone. The shower I was able to work around because at least the water ran in the tub so I would just finish my towel under the faucet and wash up. Once I found out the phone did not work, they then drug their feet with determining what I would be given as a discount and then had the nerve to threaten to call the police if I did not quit complaining. So you know what I did! I told them to go ahead and call the police because I was going to put them on blast so that that way everyone will know that they steal people’s money by having you to pay for things they do not give you, and then they want you to be quiet and just accept their thievery ABSOLUTELY NOT! The audacity to threaten to call the police on someone when you have done wrong! And they saw that even the police agreed with me and LAQUINTA INN’s manager is SUPPOSED TO be either giving a discount for the incomplete room or a refund for a portion of this stay to ATONE FOR THEIR THEFT & RESTORE WHAT WAS STOLEN. They knew this phone did not work in this room and they knew they should not have been charging full price for this room let alone sticking anyone in this room and not letting them know they do not have a working phone and during an emergency to not even attempt to use it. The gross inconsideration and lack of human regard is despicable! Upon check out, the manager Alex finally made things right, but that was even after he had lied and accused me of cussing out the front desk night auditor, and I had to remind him that I have everything on video tape and that even that night auditor knows not a single cuss word was used — and then I started videotaping Alex and he started doing right. I will be checking my account to see if he gave me the certain amount of points that he had promised. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE STAYS HERE WITHOUT FIRST VERIFYING EVERYTHING WORKS PROPERLY IN THEIR ROOM BECAUSE THESE UNDERBELLIES ARE...
