Woodmont has nice looking apartments. The experience overall though is terrible and far from luxury.
The package situation here is terrible. Woodmont's POV is that its the carriers fault. People often can't get their packages and the experience in the mailroom is stuff everywhere and almost nothing in a locker. You don't know if your package comes or not unless Amazon takes the photo even then you DIG through mountains of packages to find yours. I started sending my packages for pick up at WholeFoods. The garbage area is always a mess and overflowing. The amount of weed smoking is nuts. You walk around and you can smell it everywhere. Even openly at the pool in front of children. Emails are continually sent out and the problem never resolves. There are a lot of unsupervised children who have on occasion had the following behavior issues - fake firing guns, running around with huge knives, and having full on fights in common areas like the pool and park. I've personally broken up a fight myself. It doesn't give that feeling of safety when I have a young child. The increase in rent after the first year was shocking coming in at 20% increase MORE than the lease before. This should be disclosed to residents and in many states that type of increase has been found unethical and banned. I have a child so it's not straight forward for me to move mid-year. I've heard of multiple cases of bikes being stolen and Woodmont not doing much about it even when it was clear who stole the bike. 2 years ago there were way more Woodmont organized events to meet neighbors. This year there have been only a few in comparison but the common charges stay the same and the rent goes up. There appears to be ZERO programs or discounts or anything for long term residents. My apartment is being advertised for 300 less than I'm renting for today AND I will pay even more than I'm paying currently to renew plus another 500 amenities fee. For renewing discussions, the staff has been out right rude and unresponsive. This is crazy to me given I've lived her 2 and half years. FOR THE PRICE POINT, that's not ok.
As a single mom, 2 and half year resident, it's really disappointing and upsetting to be treated poorly, to be squeezed with higher and higher rent pricing while the issues go unaddressed that are very serious. Once my daughter finishes her school year, I...
Read moreEdit: I've lived here for about a year now and my experience has just gone down hill from day one. Edit 2: I've moved out now, and they charged me a bunch of damages for things I've reported on the move in inspection form. Also charged for things other companies I've rented from in the past have not. If you plan to rent here make sure you restore everything exactly as you moved in otherwise you WILL BE charged. The management rarely picks up their phone and when they do my questions are answered with template copy paste content you can find yourself. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere because a bad management team ruins all good experiences for an apartment complex. The mail situation has also gotten worse. Management does not provide an easy way for packages to be delivered when there is no space in the Luxer locker room, so the packages just end up everywhere on the ground or scatter across the community. I've lost many packages here.
I want to start off by saying the gym is good. I've lived here about 1 year now and I've had tons of problems with the apartment and the services this leasing company decide to use. First off, the apartment itself is brand new, so there shouldn't be any cosmetic problems. AT LEAST, the blinds should work. However the build quality of many things around the apartment like the blinds, cabinets and drawers are TERRIBLE.
Second, this particular apartment complex uses Valet Living trash service. They only take trash and recycling Sunday through Thursday. The employees explicitly refused to take any FOLDED cardboard boxes that are larger than 9x11 inches, yes you read that right, they require you to fold them first. This is ridiculous because a typical Amazon box when folded is larger than 9x11. If I have to take my typical Amazon shipping box to the compactor (it is about 3 min walk from my house), then why do I still have to pay for Valet trash service? Furthermore, the service is extremely unreliable, they would often miss trash pick ups. When they miss the pick ups, the apartment requires you to take that trash back into your apartment. Overall, I know apartments are limited here in Princeton, especially new ones, so if you do choose to lease here just don't expect the luxury apartment the...
Read moreLike many others, we find the location to be a commendable aspect of this community. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. This property offers nothing special, yet demands prohibitively high rents, often padded with frequent, miscellaneous charges on the lease invoice. A particularly galling example is the $75 fee for simply leaving a recycling bag outside our door for a couple of hours prior to pick up by the valet service, citing a "fire hazard,” while permanent decor outside other doors goes unaddressed. Security is also a significant concern, with packages routinely stolen and even bikes stored inside the building reported missing. Our son’s $400 bike was stolen from the bike storage room and all the leasing office had to say was that it is our problem and we should follow up with local law enforcement. To compound these issues, the leasing office staff, most notably Assistant Manager Jessica, is rude, passive-aggressive, and unprofessional. Renewing our lease was a decision we deeply regret, and we genuinely cannot wait to move out of this community.
Latest Update: Do not be fooled by their response to the review, claiming they care and want to work with us to resolve our concerns. Case in point: Three of our packages have gone missing in the last 3 days and when we told two members of the front office staff, their response was that we should follow up with the carrier (even though they uploaded proof of delivery) or file a police report (even though there is no way for law enforcement to figure out what happened). While the maintenance crew here is fantastic, Management simply does not care! If you are looking for a safe community,...
