Beverly Lanes — Local services in Wheeling Township

I have driven past this unassuming bowling alley hundreds of times in the last 20 years. I don't bowl anymore and I never was any good, but I love bowling alleys for the nostalgia factor and so many have disappeared. My hubby is a decent bowler and we finally went here on a Tuesday afternoon. Great time to bowl - only two other lanes were occupied. I love this old school alley - simple and classic. The bar is very cool and retro with nice ambient lighting. This place is so old fashioned, they don't display your scores overhead.

The bathrooms were clean, but very long in the tooth with the cutest half-size toilet seats! I loved that they had a unique assortment of colorful bowling balls donated from a variety of folks with their names on them! Only one criticism - there were no chairs near the scoring table - a little...

We have been visiting the wonderful Beverly Lanes in Chicago for 31 years. We live in Australia and consider the wonderful Zikes family - our second family. It is a beautifully run centre with all staff both knowledgeable and caring. They treat all of their customers as valued guests. My buddies and I were regulars here but not anymore. The staff was always very short with us and a little disrespectful. They seemed to be annoyed with having teens there for some reason. Now they got rid of the hourly rate because of their “broken computers” and claimed they would replace them but it’s been 3 months and still nothing.
