My Dad has been a resident of Anthology Memory Care since late December 2021. My husband and I did extensive research and interviewed many facilities last fall, anticipating the severity of the sudden stroke my Dad experienced in North Carolina where he resided. My Dad's life and ours turned upside down. In addition to his extreme memory and cognitive skill loss, aggression and depression consumed him. Upon his release from rehab in N.C., my husband and I brought him here to Wildwood. My Dad had displayed some memory loss prior to his stroke. Unfortunately the stroke produced a double brain bleed which changed him from a functioning 94 year old to a man I hardly knew. I had very few skills to communicate with my Dad. We had been very close. I was totally lost, confused and scared. l did not know what I was facing, how to deal with it, but most importantly how to make my Dad better. My husband and I knew from the moment we met Katrie and toured Anthology, it was home for my Dad. Katrie is truly an amazing person. Her warmth and kindness literally kept me whole through these last months. Her 20+ years experience has helped educate me. Her professionalism and availability is astounding. I knew I could always reach out to her for support. Thank you Katrie for walking this walk with me. I have so much more peace in my life. My Dad has improved "greatly" I am so happy to say. His self sufficiency, mobility, his cognitive skills and his confidence has improved thanks to the skills of the wonderful staff. Memory Care has been an amazing "neighborhood" for all the lovely residents. From the Director of Memory Care, Suzanne, the Director of Memory Care Activity, Elise, Director of Dining, Eric, all the wonderful medics and caregivers, thank you for providing the support and care you do for our family members. Thank you for your patience and kindness. Thank you for putting a smile on the resident's faces through all the activities, music, positive stimulation and love...
Read moreUpdate: My MIL moved out in May 2024 because she needed a higher level of care than Assisted Living. Sadly, the change in ownership to The Plaza was not good for the community. Many of the people who made Anthology the great community that it was -- from the front office to the medical team and everything in between -- were no longer working there by the time my MIL moved on or left soon after, which is sad because the service we experienced at move-in was exceptional. The legacy staff did their best, but the changes were too drastic and too fast, and unfortunately the care and service suffered as a result. What a shame that a new company negatively changed what was a gem amongst senior housing. My MIL would have had to move on anyway due to her condition, but even without that, we probably would have had to look for something else before the end of summer. _________We moved my mother-in-law into Anthology at the end of July 2023, and we have been nothing short of amazed at how well she has settled in and how attentive the entire staff has been to her unique needs. Some new health issues required us to quickly change her original plan for senior living, and we will be forever grateful to the staff at Anthology for working with our family as we pivoted to find assisted living vs. independent living, with not a moment to spare. From our first screening tour through move in and, this morning, our one-month family meeting, every interaction with the staff has been professional, detail-oriented, personalized, warm, caring and FUN. We toured several facilities during our search, and Anthology came out on top for quality of care, excellent dining services, condition and appearance of the facility and breadth of activities for residents. Thank you, Anthology, for making my MIL and our family feel like part of...
Read moreWe toured this community before the holidays with with my in laws who are prospective clients. We live out of state part of the year, and had a short window of time to see the community. I toured other communities last year when our other side of our family was looking so I felt prepared for the right questions to ask and what to do look for, but it was in a much different area and level of care need. My family was very satisfied and feel great about this community! The sales director and staff were so accommodating, warm, helpful, and inviting. I did not feel any pressure, nor did my family or the in laws, one who is struggling-with dementia and one with Parkinson’s. Their memory care was sweet and I felt the residents were well attended to and truly cared for. I loved the way one of the staff members engaged with one of the residents. We had lunch, which was well prepared and delivered by professional wait staff. I was struck not only with the warmth of staff but also the professional feel and look. The staff was dressed in a professional way and though this does not replace good care, it is very nice to see when knowing how particular my in-laws can be. Their activity calendar was fun, the receptionist was lovely, and I felt very good about the experience and how they would work with our family. I felt confident this team had measures in place to ensure when our parents either just one or both, are ready for the transition they will have support and encouragement right there beside them. The family is still working with our parents to encourage them to make the move but when we do this is our first pick. Oh and the pricing is really reasonable compared to...
