I have been a customer of home depot near my home for over twenty years, i recently came into some money, so I figured I would splurge, and by myself stuff that I needed for my shop, i went to home depot multiple times and purchased over $15000 worth of tools, Toolboxes, wood to build shelves and desks, i actually purchased six toolboxes as I received a amazing deal on them.I couldn't say no, however, I could not take all of those toolboxes at once. I had to make multiple trips, in between picking up the last 3 boxes, I was in a car accident and was unable to go right back and pick up the final 2 boxes, i called the store and notified them. It would be a few days when I went to pick up the final 2 boxes. Asset protection got involved, took my receipts. Asked if I had paid for them. The cashier told him, yes, so he said to give me the boxes and help me pull them out front to my truck. Little did I know they called the police on me, and I had to show my receipts to the police when they arrived. I was allowed to load the boxes in my truck and leave the property. However, I received a phone call, stating that I had to bring the boxes back, i didn't understand why I was told to deal with home depot. So I went back when I returned. I unloaded the boxes I called customer care and was told that they would be in touch in 2 weeks. I was also videotaped from asset protection from his personal phone. He lied to the police and said that he never told me I was all set. After he pulled the box from the middle of the store out to my truck.I then received a criminal charge. And a trespass for life, after almost 2 weeks, waiting for customer care. Telling me that they were going to take care of it and that everything would be OKI received an email stating that they were going to stay with the store's decision. And they did all of this after talking to a manager that never was involved at all from the very beginning. I am going to be returning all $15000 of merchandise that I purchased in cash. And I will never step foot in a home depot again, hopefully, this does not happen to anybody else. If they ever ask you if you'd like to leave a product there and pick it up later. I would highly recommend you don't do it. I should have hired trucks and took them all the same night that I purchased them now. I'm having to spend money on a lawyer and take time out of my days to go to court for me. Spending money at home depot. I hope this helps anybody in their decision to go to that store. I know I've been a customer of Lowe's. For just as long and I get amazing treatment there. And that's where I will be...
Read moreWhy would we accept a damaged freezer that swings the wrong way? Last Wednesday Home Depot delivered a large damaged freezer to us and called it a "loaner". The guys said we should keep and use it as a "loaner" while Home Depot arranged to have a replacement door sent with a repair man to replace the scratched and dented door (in at least two different places), and that when they returned to replace the door they'd make it swing in the opposite direction during the repair. How would we know that you tell customers to keep damaged appliances as a "loaner" if they didn't tell us this? How would we even know this language or operational policy? When we asked if we should call Home Depot or what were we supposed to do, the guys told us they took photos, and we're "all set" and they'll have Home Depot call us. Now Monday, 3-business days later, we're being told there are no photos (no prob - freezer is still damaged), and there are NO plans to repair the damaged freezer that was purchased as "new" and left with us as a "loaner". In fact, they can't even tell us the names of the delivery guys that swindled us into this lying fraud. BTW - the scratch in the middle of the door is colored with YOUR blue shipping/packaging - so this is clearly YOUR damages Home Depot. Please, General Manager of Home Depot - contact me. I spoke with Amelia at your service desk for over an hour today. It's clear Home Depot is using fraudulent operatives with your customers. I paid YOU Home Depot - this is YOUR responsibility Home Depot of Williston Vermont. FIX THIS! I have filed a police report with the Vermont State Police in St. Albans, VT Case #2A2000943. Pleas stop this FRAUD and fix this immediately! If this is not resolved by tomorrow, I will refute this on my credit card and place your damaged freezer in our driveway for you to collect - because I will not pay for your damaged freezer. HELLO - earth to Home Depot - WAKE UP AND BE A RESPONSIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will remove this review after you fix this. I will seek remuneration for DISTRESS if you do not fix this. I believe there may be government agencies that also protect the elderly - and we will additionally report you for ELDER ABUSE for you to do this to my 78-year old father if you do not rectify this. I was here - I watched it all. This must be fixed immediately. This was supposed to be a $900+ birthday present and instead you took advantage of a 78-year old....think about your own parents and grand parents and how you'd like it if someone did this...
Read moreI will not be shopping at this store any longer after a very awful experience placing a pickup order for a mini fridge on their website.
After getting the email confirmation that my order was ready for pickup, I showed up at the store and had 3 associates search the entire store for my order.. nowhere to be found. I was there for 45 minutes and nobody communicated to me what was going on... finally they told me the order was "lost" somehow and that they would call me when ready.
Several days later, I get an email and text notification on my phone that the order is ready for pick up. Once again, I drive to the store and meet the same "customer service" team at the front pickup station. They scan through the orders and again, check the entire store and my order is still missing. This time, they tell me they'll call me when it's ready and to ignore the emails because apparently they're not accurate. Another 30 minutes of my time wasted. At this point, I'm very frustrated but politely voice my complaints to the service person. They offer me a less than 50% discount for a $240 fridge. An underwhelming prospect, but I accept. I may be naive to how this system works, but given the amount of hassle I'd already experienced, I was surprised they weren't going to write this one off as a free item for my troubles. They said they'd call me Monday when the order was coming to the store. IT's now Saturday and I've not received a call. Roommate is moving in and needed the fridge by now. Went online, canceled the order, and also called the Home Depot in Williston to submit a complaint to the customer service team. Sure enough, it is the same associate on the other end of the line. I ask to speak to her manager, and then I explain the case of the missing fridge. I explained that it wasn't so much the wait but how the situation was handled that really made me upset. I've worked in customer service all my life, and number 1 is good communication. Not a single staff member at that front desk smiled, asked how your day was going, looked you in the eyes, or expressed any sense of human understanding for an unhappy experience. I explained why they will not have my business in the future, and that I hope they look into this more and change the way things are going at this store. I never would've expected such a bad experience at a Home Depot, but it goes to show how important good customer service...
