If youâre looking for a place to be dismissed, misdiagnosed, and left in pain, look no further than the Willoughby urgent care. I made an appointment online, checked in, was brought back within 15 minutesâand then sat there for 45 minutes waiting for someone to remember I existed. I had to go out and remind them I was still in the room.
When the provider, Eliza, finally came in, I explained (several times) that I had something lodged under my upper eyelid. She flushed my eye a few times, used some UV dye to âcheck,â and repeatedly said she didnât see anythingâbecause she never once looked under the eyelid where I told her the problem was. Her solution? A quick brush-off and a conjunctivitis diagnosis. Absolutely useless.
When I received my discharge paperwork and realized she was seriously sending me home like that, I insisted on being seen again. She came back with a nurseâpresumably to back her upâbut within seconds the nurse saw exactly what I had been describing. Elizaâs response? âOh wow, how did you see that? I need to get glasses.â (Yes, an actual quote.)
She declared it a stye, gave me ointment, and sent me home still in pain. This time, she only flushed with water because apparently the saline would âirritate my eye further.â At that point, I think my eye was more irritated by the lack of actual care than anything else.
Thank Twin Optical on Vine for saving the day. They flipped my eyelid with a dental-style stick and pulled out the thing that had been stuck the whole timeâno drama, no dismissiveness, just actual help. Immediate relief.
Avoid this urgent care unless youâre into being ignored, talked over, and sent home with the wrong diagnosis and something literally still stabbing you...
Read moreWhen I arrived for my first visit, it was only 2 people in the lobby and the parking lot only had 3 cars parked. I thought I would be in and out however I waited 2 hours (in the lobby, not including the room) People walked in after I was waiting and was seen before me. I asked about it and I was told that they called ahead. There was only one doctor seeing everyone.
Two days later, I called because I was having a reaction to the medication and I was told that I needed to be seen before they can give me new medication. I asked about the call in appointment and the receptionist told me that they do not have one. I explained that people did it on Monday when I was there and then she told me they must have called in but she would not give me directions on how to do that. I went to the website and found the slots to schedule a call ahead appointment and scheduled an appointment for 12:15. When I arrived at 12:15, I explained that I had an appointment and I called ahead. The receptionist told me that itâs not an appointment and that Iâm in line now and there are 6 people ahead of me. I was very upset because had I known that the slot would not had matter, I would had arrived earlier. There was still only one doctor. The wait was so long that I left and was seen in Beachwood where I only waited 30 minutes.
I would never go back. The wait time...
Read moreI went in this past Sunday for lower belly pain/lower back pain that I've had for a week with no improvement. First impression, the receptionist sounded dead with no smile or greeting. Then I'm called back by one of the receptionists & she didn't even walk with me to my room, I had to find it myself. I waited maybe 25 minutes for an MA to get my vitals & a urine sample. She was super sweet, I really liked her. Then I waited another 30 mins just to see the provider, Dr. Nutter. Long story short, she disregarded quite literally everything I said/how I was feeling, & diagnosed me with "constipation", despite me saying my bathroom habits have no changed, nor is it painful to go, nor am I having any sort of issues going. Her words, & I quote, AFTER I told her that my bowel habits are fine, "Well, call it fine or not, I think you're constipated & backed up & need to take miralax." Then she just sent me on my way in such a rush! I was so angry. I KNEW it was NOT constipation, so I went to the ER across the street for a 2nd opinion. BEHOLD, despite being in bad pain & waiting for HOURS, I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. This urgent care should be ashamed of themselves. First thing being unprofessional receptionists, & then being improperly...
