I usually frequent the Chardon Marcs on a regular basis. I can’t say enough great things about that store from the outstanding staff to fresh produce. I went into Willoughby Marc’s out of convenience as it is close to my daughter’s practice facility. The first visit, all of my produce went bad within a couple days. This second visit, I only needed a couple baking items so I went again…. And I will NEVER.RETURN.
As I ran through the closeouts, I saw a Doormat that was on sale at Chardon Marc’s for $19.99. The Willoughby Marc’s had a different design of the same doormat that was $29.99 that I liked better. I went to the Customer service desk to ask them if they would price match. The manager was called and when I asked if he would price match it, he told me he didn’t believe me. I told him I was a frequent customer of the Chardon Marc’s and I could call them if he likes because it is true that it’s for sale for $19.99. He again told me that I wasn’t being truthful. I told him I would bet him and call. I never raised my voice. I simply told him I knew for a fact it was on sale for that price . He said it was probably the last one and I told him no they had a whole pile of them as I had been there the night before, ironically . He then told me, and I quote, “ If you want it so bad, then go buy it there.” WOW. Needless to say, I will never step foot in that store again. I would also like to add that I ran through the produce aisle again out of curiosity . I wanted just double check to see if maybe I had hit it on a bad day the previous visit. Today there were numerous berries with mold and brown lettuce displayed. I will say the lady working the customer service desk was very nice and the young man when I left was very nice too. Unfortunately, the manager was beyond rude. Maybe he should take a little more time to assess his produce and products instead of being rude to customers who would spend good money...
Read moreWhat a horribly managed and horribly run store.
I went into this location to purchase a few items 9/7 one of which was cornmeal mush, which is available in their milk aisle.
while waiting in line I realize that the mush was three months expired 6/2024. I’m not sure why they’re selling three months expired to their customers.
This does not seem like a good idea. People could get pretty sick, if you cared about your customers, you wouldn’t sell three month old mush to your customers that pay u and keep u in business.
Some maybe too old to read the label, or maybe can’t read. - it’s a big responsibility to sell food to people.
At the service counter with my two items for 15 minutes , before leaving and not making a purchase. They did not have enough people apparently to handle my two item purchase. Standards….
I realize that it’s a tough time to hire people, but if you want to stay open, you probably shouldn’t sell three month old mush to your clients and make them wait 15 minutes to make a purchase of two items I would avoid this store away all costs. Try to have some standards Marc’s , you used to. :)
Do it for your health and your families health, they don’t give a sh$$ about your...
Read moreThis Marc's has a different vibe compared to other Marc's stores. Maybe because it's new and it doesn't have that "broken in" feeling that the other stores have but this Marc's just doesn't feel the same. The employees are scarce so you won't run in to them unless you are at the checkout. It is very clean and organized even the closeouts section. The deli is understaffed as usual with Marc's but the people that work in the deli and this particular store are different in that they are trying to get your order and get it to you in a speedy manner, they are friendly, and the have excellent customer service skills. The prices at this Marc's seem to be a lot higher than the other stores, possibly because of the rent in that shopping center or something. They seem to carry more of certain items like pharmacy and cosmetics but less of the traditional food items. Their closeout section does have some nice stuff in it that I haven't seen at other locations but I don't think it is as big as the other stores. Overall it is not the typical Marc's experience and not in a good way. I will probably bypass this location and use either the mentor ave or willowick stores...
