UH Lake West Medical Center Emergency Room — Local services in Willoughby

I went in to the Lake West emergency branch less then a week ago for my horrible teeth pain. (Chronic issues, don't see oral surgeons until 4/27) I had been here prior to this with no luck. I always review doctors and places like this I go BECAUSE it IS a big deal how medical practices treat patients. I don't appreciate being treated like another number, and other times I'd been here (sadly) the doctors did not take the time for me UNTIL I saw Physicians assistant, Anthony Passeralla and his nurse, Mallory Fetina. They treated me AMAZING! My husband and I were left almost speechless. Neither of us had very great luck at lake west before this. These 2 hands down have my respect. PA Passerallo went above and beyond for me and my horrible teeth pain, as well as Mallory! They were so sweet! They made so much difference, they acknowledged the problem and handled it the best way they could. Other doctors did not treat me as well as this duo did. I am forever grateful and I am so glad our community has a good staff to go to with their urgent medical needs. Thank you again, Anthony and Mallory! You guys are sensational, I love finding people who are doing what they truly LOVE. (And not someone who just sweeps problems under the rug to hurry up and get the patients in and out, that's not cool.)

I have been suffering for 2 weeks with a slipped disc rushing my sciatic nerve Supposedly was the diagnosis as I sit around in constant pain I can't say that I sit because I stand more than I sit I sleep one hour a night The hospital sends you home with simple steroid medication and ivy profen lol I have been to the hospital 3 times in a matter of 2 weeks waiting for my doctor's appointment I have to go back in 4 to hospital to get The hospital using me as a lab rat giving me nonstop steroids and all sorts other crazy Medications that have nothing to do with helping me with my pain so I can at least sit down on a toilet Yeah actually get more than one hour of sleep and not have to stand in front of my window wondering when the pain is going to stop lol I hope this message gets across to the emergency department and the health care physicians need to be reevaluated because if they think that someone with a slipped disc in a pinched nerve needs IV profen to help with the pain lol re evaluate what your doing for your patients because your not doing anything for me.... Except for sign here........ I truly hope somebody does the right thing and get some medical professionals that are willing to help somebody not to send them out the door and tell them there's nothing they can do..... See the specialist referred in the paperwork lol 2 weeks down...

DO NOT GO TO THIS ER!!! Absolutely horrific experience here. Had an anaphylactic reaction and had to go by ambulance. Once I arrived I sat in a wheelchair in a hallway for over 7 hours. I couldn’t even lay down and be ill. All 12 of the ER beds were full of admitted patients. But the hospital was full so they couldn’t go anywhere, so anyone needing care in the ER was sitting in the lobby. They were being told it’s a 14 hour wait. People came in by ambulance with head wounds and were placed in the lobby. One man had waited over 20 hours in the ER after being admitted, still no bed. People were just suffering with no care. I am pretty sure I never saw a doctor. I say pretty sure because no one identified themselves to me. I think I saw a Nurse Practitioner who 7 hours later, after no examination whatsoever, told me since I’m not currently dying, ( which was not thanks to them but by taking rescue medication at home), I probably fainted and discharged me. There was no privacy or respect for HIPPA as they were treating people in the hallway. Thank God the Cleveland Clinic is opening in...
