I brought many articles of clothing to be dry cleaned and altered, and I asked for a rush service. Nicky explained there would be an extra charge for the rush delivery, to which I agreed because I needed to go to a wake and a funeral. I asked for my slacks to be hemmed, my jacket to be taken in, and my husbands pants to be hemmed. I had at at least 10 articles of clothing that I brought in. They didn't hem my black pants that I asked to be hemmed. Two of my other pants came back two inches shorter, and shrunk so badly they are now tight fitting and fit at ankle level. . I attempted to call the owner, and she was extremely rude and blamed me for causing a confusion. If anyone was confused, it was them for not doing the alteration properly. If it were not possible to do the alteration as I asked, I would have preferred a simple "no" to having been overcharged and having two slacks ruined. She is refusing to give me my money back, so I will have to make a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau. The owner is condescending, unprofessional, and should not be in customer service. She would not even listen as I attempted to explain the situation. Her lack of cultural competence is very evident as she talked over me, and would not let me speak without interruption. In America, we allow the paying customer to be heard. I know that what I asked for was not done properly and the pants I needed were not hemmed. As I attempted to explain, she continued insulting me, she would not listen, the situation escalated and I had to hang up on her. This has never happened to me in any other business before. You have lost my business, and I hope others are very careful before choosing to do business with someone who overcharges for alterations, and will not even listen when something goes wrong. This is a reply to your response: Please excuse me, berating an employee? I do believe you're grossly exaggerating. I had a funeral to attend, I paid an extra 20 percent for rush service, and the pants I needed hemmed were not hemmed, two of my pants were shrunk, and when I called I didn't bearate anyone. Do you even know the definition of that word? All I did was express that my clothing were ruined and that my pants were not hemmed. I was not happy, but I didn't use inappropriate language.
I am not interested in doing business with a racist person, who treated me in a demeaning way. You, the owner, you think I want to set a foot inside your establishment? When I called you, you would not let me get a word in edgewise. You didn't allow me to express my concerns, as you talked over me; and I ended up hanging up on you.
You paid someone to write this response, because your English isn't anywhere close to this. Suddenly, in this response, you're attempting to show a mote of decorum which you didn't afford me when I called to complain. I'm not interested in this backhanded condescension, and smug invitation to go back to the "lion's den", I'm all set. I will never do business with you again. Keep my 30 dollars for the pants that were not hemmed. I hope it enriches you sooner...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOUTRAGEOUS PRICES!! I called about my wedding dress being cleaned and preserved. The reviews seemed fine but when I called I was told a horrific price. The other places I called said it was between $300-350 and took about 2-3 weeks to get done. And that price included cleaning and preservation. When I called Lapels, I was told they were separate prices. I was first asked if my dress was simple, not many layers, or big, like a ball gown. I have a ball gown so it costs more. For cleaning it would cost $352.50 for my gown, $105.90 for my veil and because my dress has a long train, an extra $103.25 which makes no sense. Then for the preservation it would cost $493.50 for my gown, $105.90 again for my veil and that extra charge of $105.25 for the fact that I have a long train. Now I was also told that if I was a member I could get 20% off but that still would make it cost so incredibly much. I just donāt understand how these prices make sense and how it costs over $1000 to get my dress cleaned and preserved. It costs almost as much as my dress cost when I purchased it! It just seems like they donāt actually want to clean or preserve wedding dresses with how outrageous these prices are....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRuined all of my merino wool sweaters they are dirtier than when I dropped them off (blue lint all over my black sweater a d feathers stuck in them). They are now rough like they used starch on them and worst of all the shrunk them. We just moved to the area and heard this was a good dry cleaner. I should have driven back to Framingham:-( these were merino wool very high quality and very expensive so needless to say I am very upset.
Update: Talked to her on the phone she took zero responsibility. And could not believe this would happen to her business. Everything is sent out so it is not their fault. But does want me to bring the sweaters back in to help her find out what went wrong. Glad I can help her out with this. What should happen is a full refund. Well another thing happened my husband is missing his custom suits and a couple dress shirts. Truly don't use this business unless you are looking for issues. At this point we have over 1,600 dollars in missing items and over 800 dollars in ruined clothing. Save yourself the headache go somewhere else.
Update 6/16 lost my husbands custom suit he is 6'9" not an easy suit to lose. There goes another...
