I went into Nibblins on December 7th to purchase Christmas gifts for my out of town family members - my son and my daughter. I wanted to support local businesses when I was buying gifts this year. Before I made my purchases, I asked if they could ship the items I purchased. I was told yes by the sales associate, and this was confirmed by the owner. I made my purchases, provided addresses, provided my contact information, paid extra to cover shipping costs, and blissfully left the store. On the morning of December 21, I called the store to find an answer to why the items were not received yet - two weeks after my purchase. The sales associate remembered me, and she promised to return my call after she had an answer. By 4:00 pm, I still had not received a call back! I called again to inquire about my purchases. I was told that the items had âbeen pushed aside.â They had NOT been shipped! I was in shock. The sales associate told me that âthey had been busy.â Busy?! Yes, it was December, but they couldnât find any time to take care of one customer because they had other customers?!? Now, my family members would not receive the gifts I purchased for them ON DECEMBER 7 until AFTER Christmas! The sales associate shared this with the owner, and I could hear her on the phone with someone asking about shipping. The sales associate (not the owner) returned and told me that they âwould TRY to get the items to their destinations by Christmas Eve - but there were no promises.â At this point, I had to change the address for one of the items, so that my son received his gift at my daughterâs home where we were all spending Christmas. (I had to fly there, and this is why I had to have the items shipped.) Again, I was disappointed by Nibblins when nothing arrived in time for Christmas. My son left this morning (December 26 - without his gift). He lives six hours away, so when his gift arrives at my daughterâs house, he will not get his gift until he sees his sister in the summer - six months after Christmas! (I am not going to pay for shipping yet again. This is an expensive that was created by the incompetence of others, so for now, Iâm very reluctant. Perhaps, in time, I will change my mInd or figure out a way for Nibblins to cover this expense IF I could trust them to do so with competence.) The only thing that distinguishes one business from another is customer service. As far as I am concerned, Nibblins made it very clear to me that they do not care about their customers nor their reputation. I will never against make the mistake of supporting this local business, and I will not hesitate to share my experience...
Read moreThis is my very first spite review but I feel obligated to write it... I tried to return a colander for my mom who lives out of town. The item broke before it was ever used and all I wanted was the money back. I had the receipt and the tag that was on the item. The lady working the counter which I think is the owner was giving me all sorts of grief about making the return. I tried to explain to her I don't want another colander that is going to do the same thing and I don't want a store credit. It will just be easiest if I get the money back. I finally convinced her to give me money back and at the very last second she tells me she is going to take 10% for herself for a restocking fee. I say "what are you going to do restock the broken colander... no your going to send it back to the manufacturer and they will send you a new one!" All said and done I'm out a couple of dollars for her restocking fee but that isn't going to make or break me. But what makes or breaks a business is customer service. In my opinion there are plenty of businesses out there that are willing to do the right thing and in this particular case Nibblins did the wrong thing. So out of spite I write this review in hopes one person out there doesn't shop here and I know in the long run the 10% restocking fee actually lost Nibblins money and a customer. All that said my objective opinion of Nibblins is its nice, well stocked, and over...
Read moreBought a few things for birthday gifts here. A package of salami which was opened and had a Best Buy date of the month before, some salami sticks that had a Best Buy date of two months prior and an aioli sauce which was opened and spoiled. Their return policy isnât great and is only for store credit or exchange-but you would think if you bought expired/spoiled food from an establishment they would refund you your money. Nope. I got 50% of my money back for the food items and they were going to give me 25% of my Money back for the sauce. As I couldnât imagine that being correct-as I would Think that would be stealing my money? I asked the associate to call the owner and confirm, twice. Owner confirmed that was correct. She also said the dates were Best Buy dates NOT expiration dates so, they could still be consumed. The bag of salami was literally Opened and leaking but okay. So, I said well Iâll just get another sauce-and to my surprise other aioli sauces were also spoiled and opened. Long story short-they stole money from me for their mistake of having spoiled food and refused to refund me the whole amount. Beware buying any food from store-also be sure to...
