Since I've been 21 I have never been denied the purchase of a firearm. I went into the store trying to purchase a pistol. The first time the gentleman behind the counter did not ask if I had a CCW before processing. So I was denied because all that has to be on the paperwork. Then I was told I had to wait 30 days before coming back was not told the first time it was (stored policy.) So I called VSP had a conversation with them. They said I was good to go back in the store to try to reapply. I called the store and asked the speak to the main manager. He was very understanding and said come back in. I waited a few days, went back. The gentleman put my CCW information in was still denied. It was the same gentleman as last time That put my information in the first time. He was very nice and understanding and apologized. As he was trying to show me that it was store policy. The manager Dustin. Came over And turn the computer screen back around so I could not see it. So at that point I got my permit and left to my vehicle. Went back in and all I wanted to do was simply speak to the main manager and tell him i appreciate his time and how dustin was acting and seems like he had a problem with me being in there dustin was very unprofessional and how he wouldn't let me see my own paperwork. At this time Dustin came to the front and said. There's nothing I can do for you. It is a store Policy I said I understand that but I still want to speak to the man I was talking to. Dustin replied Yeah, I'm right below him. I said that's good. I still want to speak to him, he said he is busy. I said that's fine, I'll just make a phone call or come back later to talk to him.He threw his hands up, walked away. Then i was told the main manager was with the i.t. guy So i left. I will not be doing business with this store. From what i understand this is not the frist time this happened in this store from other people. I have worked in retail and been a manager in retail. This is not how you act for customers. The main manager was excellent and professional. Dustin was not. The Gentleman trying to sell me the firearm Was a very nice an excellent and professional. The rest of the staff in the...
Read moreI went to this store and found a deal on a Keltec I’d been interested in. While talking about the reason I wanted a compact 9mm carbine for my truck and waiting to put my paper work in for it. I was told they will not be selling me any firearms because of what I said. All said was that if I had engage a threat that was further than 15-20 yards away I wanted to be able to neutralize the threat with out having to chase to get close enough to accurately engage. Why else do people buy firearms? Yet I had noticed a young male associate behind their gun counter handling firearms and was stoned out of his mind and that was easy to see ( red eyes, looked intoxicated and acted intoxicated)
In my 35 years of buying firearms, I have never failed an application or been denied service. I am a lifelong member of the NRA and a combat veteran. I know they deny services to anyone, but this was ridiculous and embarrassing. I will never spend a single cent in that store and will be working very hard to move them out of...
Read more5+ stars to Tom in firearms sales. We spent the day shopping for a 22 cal rifle in the PA area and were unsuccessful with finding a rifle in stock and with getting someone to even wait on us at the Sportsman Warehouse in Chambersburg. I called the Winchester store while I was shopping in the Chambersburg store and immediately was impressed with the individual I spoke with. We drove to Winchester and upon arriving at the firearms sale desk was greeted by Tom, whom was working with other customers. He multitasked and dealt with us all at the same time. It is obvious how much pride he has in his job. He could not have been any more helpful with my purchase. I have already recommended several others travel to Winchester to purchase their sporting needs. Sad but Tom has heard how bad the Chambersburg store is. Thanks Tom and we...
