I HATE even giving a one star! This store has went downhill over the years. I went Saturday June 23rd and bought my items I intended on buying so, I walked to the produce section first. What I seen should have just made me walk right out. There were so many dead flies in the fruits, veggies and bags of potatoes and onions. Then, I get to the meats as in chicken, ground beef and etc...there were dead flies on top of the meat packages and most of the chicken looked slimy or discolored. Get to the ground beef, it looked fine so I got 2 packs of hamburger meat and then checked out. I live literally 10 mins from the store. Paid for my groceries, loaded them in my van and went straight home. The next morning, I open my refrigerator and an awful sour meat smell hits me right in the face. I knew immediately it was the ground beef because that's the only meat I bought. It all had turned to a grayish/brownish color, not just on top but all the way through. I thought "ok let me make sure the date was good". Yep it said use or freeze by June 25th. So it was "suppose" to be fine. On top of all the nastiness, the employees are the most miserable looking, hateful people I've ever had to deal with at a grocery store. No one is ever smiling or greeting anyone and just plain grumpy. But whatever, I can deal with that but not buying things only to not be able to use them and wasting my money! Quality Foods, y'all better wake up and...
Read moreI stay nearby so I visit this store frequently and usually I have no problems. During my visit today 12:07pm-12:13, Ms. Susan C was my cashier today. I walked up to her register and first, she didn’t even make eye contact with me. Following that, she didn’t speak to me throughout the whole transaction. From me walking up to her register, to me leaving with my receipt, not a word was spoken from her. There was a young lady behind me which was caucasian, I left the store and came back inside a few seconds later because i had forgotten something and the young lady that was behind me was leaving and here Ms. Susan is smiling, and speaking to this young woman. The experience made me feel as though i was dealing with someone not only rude, but prejudice as well. I currently work in retail and if you can’t perform decent customer service, let alone putting whatever personal feelings/problems you have going on to the side momentarily while dealing with customers, you should find another job. No one deserves to be treated in a way, unhappy with your job? Find another. No one is holding her hostage or forcing her to work here, therefore you’ll need to evaluate who you hire to represent your store...
Read moreThis 19th century relic has definitely seen 'better daze,' back in the 1950's that is! It should've been bulldozed, along with some of the cashiers, 30+ years ago.
This store is so old, with original 'everything!' That it has a 'rank' odor, that can't be described, other than.. it STINKS! The linoleum looks like it was installed in 1960, and the front end workers reminded me of a scene from 'Twilight Zone' or a weird Steven King movie. Being the 1st time I ever entered that 'market-minus-the-super,' I hadn't seen anything like it since the 1950s. The people of Winder deserve a 21st century 'SUPERMarket' that they can enjoy shopping in, with people who don't look and act like 'Aliens from the Crypt!' They were very unfriendly to me, maybe because I only bought 1 banana.
One younger fellow did a nice gesture.
The food was even very weird!
Winder deserves better! Get rid of thatt 'eyesore' and bring a 21st century store in, that has more variety, and that employs an international crew that represents...
