We visited this barbershop for the first time and booked with Alex based on his years of experience and what I saw on his Instagram. The shop itself was clean, the online booking process was simple, and Alex was punctual and professional, which I appreciatedâŠ. so Iâm giving four stars.
That said, the haircut didnât turn out the way we had hoped. I brought inspiration photos and clearly explained that we didnât want a âmushroomâ style, as my son prefers a more tousled, messy look. Unfortunately, after the cut, Alex used a round brush and hairdryer to style it in the exact way we were trying to avoid, curled under and very rounded.
Additionally, the fade was too high and not well blended, especially around the sides and behind the ears, where it extended oddly down toward the neck. It just wasnât what we asked for, and it doesnât suit my sonâs style. I also asked that he leave his bangs long and his hair longer on top. When he started, my son had more than plenty of hair to do this. Unfortunately, Alex used a large guard to go over his scissor cut and he ended up boxing up my sonâs bangs in the front.
Im a hairstylist myself, so I understand that mistakes happen. I did not argue the $50 charge and I still left a hefty tip. Only because I know that time is money and this is how we take care of our families.
Weâll have to let it grow out and find another barber for next time. A little disappointed, but hoping this feedback helps improve future experiences.
The first three photos are the inspo shown and the last photo is of my sonâs haircut after we got home and restyled it to go foward and up as opposed to rolled under. My son said he will just have to rock it for now and is thankful we tried it out now and has some time to let his hair grow out before school starts back.
Edit in response to the owner. Thank you for the response. Yes, I shared with the barber that the last person that cut my sonâs hair did not do what we asked in hopes that maybe he would pay more attention to detail. My sonâs hair had grown out and he had plenty of hair to work with when we walked in. I still dont understand why the clipperes were used to go over his scissor cut, and why he faded all the way to the back of his neck as opposed to tapered above the ear. If the pictures confused him he should have clarified and asked more questions instead of saying; âDont worry I got you, I...
Read moreDecided to choose this place because of the high ratings for my first âprofessionalâ haircut in 10+ years. Hair was cut by Jade who was asked to cut ONE inch off and to layer my hair. The first time she had âcompletedâ the cut, she asked me to review it where the right side had many layers while the left side hardly had any and I asked her if she could add more to the left. The second time she was âdoneâ with the haircut, the left side was now very obviously shorter which is when I realized she did not need to touch my hair anymore. Not only did she chop off 6-8inches, but the left and right side of my hair were easily 3 inches different in length. I also took my little sister who requested âcurtain bangsâ. Jade seemed unsure of what this was and instead of asking for reference pictures or for further clarification, she told my sister âI will cut them long at first because we can always make them shorterâ. Her next action was cutting my sisters bangs straight across from above her eyebrows. After the first cut, she immediately apologized and said her haircut would be free because she knew it wasnât what she requested at all. Jade even stated âI want to cryâ which of course only made us more uncomfortable about the situation since she was in control of it. I was charged $45 for my uneven haircut and still left a $5 tip merely because I respect the fact that she accepted us as walk ins. My sister was left devastated, in tears, and too upset to provide pictures for the public to see. I am sorry to leave a rating that reflects the entire business, but employees reflect the businesses they work for and Jade should not have the privilege to cut hair if she is unsure or incapable of the cuts. If you decide to go to this shop, do not book with Jade. (First picture in blue scrubs is the length of my two weeks before the haircut, second picture is the comparison of the uneven sides, the last picture is to display how short...
Read moreFirst time coming here and after explaining/showing the barber what I wanted he somehow? got a completely different idea and later halfway through the cut when I said hey, this isn't what I asked for, he got supercilious with me essentially saying I didn't know how to ask for what I wanted (I have always used the terminologies "fade" as well as one and two clipper blade lengths before and it has never caused a problem), and this was all my fault which if I had just provided any pictures (which I had), he would have known exactly what I wanted and done it just so. Which in hindsight since he only gave me maybe 30 sec max to explain what I wanted before he got to work, I assumed I had explained it well enough? But I left pretty hurt and also disappointed because I had read such good reviews, but I would not trust these people again with my hair, and I would advise you against it as well.. The barber himself needs to take another minute or so to really listen to his customers and let them talk (and also not put words into their mouths) before he just assumes he has enough information to get started. 2 stars because the final cut wasn't completely awful..just not what...
