Came by on Sunday about 6:30pm. Seemed to be plenty of polite staff. We ordered the pulled pork with Brunswick stew and crinkle cut fries on one plate. Big slice of grilled, I am sure, homemade garlic bread, complimentary with each plate. We also ordered a combo plate (2 meats with 2 sides. I had ribs and chicken with stew and potatoe salad both made fresh in the kitchen. We chose sweet and vinegar based sauces as accompaniments and they were excellent. The meats were cooked to perfection. I could almost simply shake it from the bones. The pulled pork was nice and moist. The sides also were wonderful. The stew was thick and not runny as some are. French fries were crinkle cut but cooked perfectly. The potatoe salad I especially liked, it was mayo based and creamy. All in all, the meal was absolutely up to my expectations and we will return to try the offerings of the chef as it is advertised that he was a graduate of the culinary school in Birmingham, AL. When we do go back, I will take my wife's recipe for Southern banana pudding for him to peruse because the 2 portions that we paid about $7.00 for went in the trash after 1 spoonful. We were extremely disappointed. There was no meringue. It was probably Cool-whip or something similar. The pudding was a good consistency but the texture was not smooth, it had tiny particles in it and I suspect it may even have come from a jar due to the metallic-like flavor that stayed on the tongue. It seemed to have bananas but I didn't see any Vanilla wafers because as I said, one spoon and we were both done. A real disappointment after such a fine meal. Never the less, WE...

I stopped at Smokin PO Boys BBQ to satisfy my BBQ itch. I heard great things about it, and they had the best banana pudding in the area.

The place had a great vibe and smelled amazing when I walked in. The guy taking the orders was very cool.

I ordered a half rack of ribs with potato salad and coleslaw and, of course, an order of banana pudding as a to go order.

When I got home after a 5 minute drive, I tore into my dinner. The potato salad was amazing. It was a little different as I think they used some kind of cheese in it. It was very tasty. The coleslaw was okay.

I then got to the ribs, which I ordered with their Sassy BBQ sauce. The sauce was nice and spicy, but it didn't take my head off. The ribs, on the other hand, were disappointing. They were dry and chewy and not the melt in your mouth falling off the bone experience I was hoping for. I was hungry and finished them off.

Then there was the banana pudding. It was really weird. It had a mousse type consistency that made me think it was made with heavy cream with banana flavoring. It had several Nilla wafers, but only one bit of banana in the entire cup! Not good eats.

I'm going to give the another shot as I saw other dishes they brought our looked truly delicious, but I won't drop another 32 bucks on...

I have drove past this place a couple of times, but since I don't live in the area have never stopped. I am very skeptical about BBQ places since most are hit an miss. I was greatly impressed. The wait staff were extremely friendly and the food was A-1! I had a combo plate with pork and ribs. My wife had pork and chicken. We went with another couple who also had combo plates. The plates were way more than we expected, and everybody was very well satisfied with everything they ordered! The pork was pulled and tender enough to feel as though it would melt in your mouth. The ribs were big and meaty and extremely juicy. They have a spicy sauce, a sweet and spicy sauce, a mild one and even a vinegar based one ( not for me!) I preferred the sweet and spicy. The meals came with two sides and a piece of toast. Sides included fries, coleslaw, okra, Brunswick stew And a couple of others I don't remember. The food arrived piping hot as though it was all prepared when ordered. And they made sure you never ran low on beverage's. We all had some beer battered onion rings which arrived plentiful and hot and we're delicious. I will definitely be back here as I consider this about the best BBQ I have had any where in GA. It puts Dreamland and...

1st off, i smelled bbq and like a cartoon character my feet glided acrossnthe pavement as the tendrils of smoked meat tickled my nose. Upon entering it looked like your normal mom and pop bbq, which i like for aesthetics. Inwas greeted immediately, which i like as well. Menu was plain, boasting normal bbq fare, aside from Brisket which they only do on weekends, boo... But heres where it got good. I ordered the 2 meat combo with 2 sides. Pulled pork and the waitress sold me on the Pastrami as my 2nd meat. The pork was good but mediocre, and ive had 4 bbq restaurants so i feel i can say that. But this pastrami sandwich on marbled rye, boy lemme tell you sumn... It had pickeled cabbage, a mustardy vinegary sauce and it was slap your momma good. I mean so good i legit ordered a 2nd to go. As i was devouring my pastrami sandwich the waitress offered me a wing which she swore by. So as an interested individual i bit, and was not disappointed. It was a dry rub buttery wing and i swear Jesus Christ himself cooked this wing. It was so dang good I ordered a dozen of dem!! Pleased is an understatement, I will 100% be back to try the rest of the menu, andnoh yeah, the sweet tea was good as well. 10 out of 10 i highly recommend!!!

"You haven't had BBQ if you haven't been to Smokin PO Boys BBQ"..said my friend Patrick while sitting at Meander Brewing for a beer. Two days later, I decided to drive the 40 miles and 1 hour it would take for me to reach this joint. It was a charming place tucked away in the quaint town of Winder. Place was full of people. But I was lucky to get a seat without any waiting. My friendly server was one of those busy country girls who still manage to provide excellent service. I ordered a combo of chicken and steak, along with some unsweetened tea. Both dishes were fantastic! I ended up finishing my entire meal, even though it was enough for two servings. I really wish the restaurant were less than 15-minute drive from my place in Atlanta, as that's all I can afford for my lunch breaks on a regular basis.

The food is really good sometimes inconsistent and the service is good. When it’s good it’s the best and when it’s not it still good just not the best. You could be in and out in 30 minutes or have a lengthier time. The sauce is where they out due themselves. They have the best bbq sauce choices. My top three are Sassy a tangy pepper vinegar, Sneaky a sweet and spicy, and Spicy a not so sweet spicy sauce accompanied by seedy, sissy, and sweetie. Sassy doesn’t compare. The ranch is homemade and pretty much drinkable. The sweet tea is good but not consistent. The beans are very good but maybe not for all. They are very garlicky and do have nice pieces of meat. The coleslaw is mayonnaise and chopped and with sassy on top it’s nice!
