First, I am not a bride, I am the mother of, so my review may not apply to brides who get more personalized attention. I went to the Blushing Bride to seek out a formal dress for the wedding, and in particular, one brand Morilee/MGNY. Nobody in northern Colorado has a decent selection of formal MOB dresses with sleeves but this store had ONE of the brand I was looking at that met my needs. I was the only customer in the store and tried on that one and a few others. Given that I had no other places to try on dresses that met my needs I had them order one that I tried on. The one I tried on was HUGE. The salesperson said definitely go down 1 size because 2 sizes down would be too tight. I had no basis to dispute her advice and the dress was ordered. When it came in I tried it on at the store and it was HUGE. She said that a tailor could take it in and acknowledged that maybe I could have gone down 1 more size (my measurements were never taken during this process). I have now been working with a tailor who specializes in gowns and wedding wear and she will have to take the sleeves off, all the lace off of the bodice and illusion, and reconstruct the dress to get it to fit. While at the tailor shop she pinned the sides and above the shoulders of the dress and took 4 inches off the sides and 1-2 inches off the top of the shoulders. More will be taken off the sleeves, the sleeves will be reset as the armholes are too big and the list goes on. It will cost me as much to get the dress reconstructed as it did to purchase the dress (and it wasn't cheap). I have never been a MOB or even a bridesmaid and have never ordered or worn a formal gown like this so I had to rely on the professionals to advise me, and that didn't work out well for me at all (although the sales person was very nice). So, beware if you need a formal gown and are not getting the personalized attention that most brides get. Don't consider any size without making them take your measurements and then study the size chart they are using. Better yet, maybe drive a little further to the Denver area and find someone that actually has formal dresses in stock--at least enough to try on various sizes...
Read moreSarah was absolutely amazing 🌹 I feel very grateful for how she treated me with such kindness, respect, and made the day I found my perfect dress stress free, joyful and fun. I chose to make the first trip to look at a specific dress on my own; thinking I would have a good chance to see if it was right for me and what I ought to be looking for, for when I got to go with family. Sarah greeted me with a smile and made me feel at ease. I’d had a difficult morning and decided to turn it around by going to see the dress, I’d liked online. I am so glad I did! Sarah made my day a gift. Even though I did not have anyone with me , I did not feel alone at all. I felt like I was with a dear friend searching for my perfect dress to marry the love of my life. She had such wonderful ideas, listened to every word I said in order to help me try on dresses that would fit me and my taste. She was patient, super helpful letting me look through dresses also. I felt comfortable, happy and relieved. So much so that I began to feel brave and know what I really wanted. Because of Sarah’s help I felt comfortable asking to try on such a beautiful dress that was on display, it was a sweetheart neckline, strapless, did not cover my neck and chest area or arms. It had such delicate detail and just looked like a fresh spring day. I never would have thought I could pull it off . But when we got the dress on I couldn’t wait to look and see. I felt beautiful and strong and delicate and graceful and I don’t think I would have given myself the opportunity if it weren’t for how Sarah treated me at Dora Grace. Thank you Sarah🌻you are so kind. Important to note, Dora Grace has such a big variety of dresses, you can try every type on to see which one is you in a really comfortable setting with good people who care and allow you a chance to really find...
Read moreI booked my appointment at Dora Grace Bridal not knowing what to expect. Like most brides, I had never shopped for a wedding dress before and I figured I would need several appointments to find the right dress. I opted to bring my dad along for what I thought would be my first of many sessions, and we were greeted by Kara who was quick to help me feel less anxious. She already selected a few of the dresses that I had sent to her prior to the appointment, but wanted me to go browse the floor so that I could put my hands on dresses as well. After selecting a few additional dresses, I started to try on the ones that I had selected from photographs, while trying on the first few dresses, Kara would ask me what I liked and didn’t like about each one. She paid close attention to what I wanted to accentuate on my body as well as the things that I felt more insecure about showing, and before I knew it she come back into the fitting area with a dress in hand that she told me she thought would check the boxes of the things that I liked in the previous dresses, but also they had a little bit different of a style than I had tried on already. I tried on the dress and looked in the mirror and immediately was brought to tears as I had never felt so beautiful. After taking in the moment we talked about the dress and what I liked about it, she selected a few more for me to try to make sure, and I went back to that dress each time. I am thankful for the time and the thoughtfulness that Kara put into my appointment to make sure that I was heard and that I left with the most beautiful dress. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience, then the one I had saying yes to the dress...
