AMAZING!
My guest lived in India for some time, I worked in India for many months. We both lived in England for years, where Indian food is #1. We both agreed that this is the best Indian in Colorado.
We drove from Fort Collins because we had heard good things. It was worth the drive and we will do it again.
The owner was our server, what an amazing man. The food was even better.
When we walked in we were shocked by the size of the place. Atmosphere would be better if it was smaller or there were more patrons. The tables are well separated, which is nice as patron, but will not be nice when he is full.
We had Rogan Josh and the Tandori Mixed Grill.
Spice level was perfect. Enjoyed but not overwhelming
went again. Food was a good - sadly the service left a lot to be desired.
I did speak to the manager about it.
Basically, we ran out of rice. No one stepped by but we saw an server at the far end, just checking his phone. I raised my arm, he made eye contact but never came over, This was repeated.
By the time we finally raised someone the rice was way too late.
There is no excuse got this when it is not busy and there are idle staff. We always used to say "If there is time to lean, there is time to clean" Maybe we should update this to, "if there is time to lean, go to the patron that has raised his hand", and get off your cell phone.
I would add that this time we had a curry, a vindaloo and butter chicken. All were as good as we have ever had. So, five different dishes, plus nan, all amazing
owner responded: I thank him for that, but would ask: "Why is cell phone use by the staff acceptable at all?" Staff are paid to look after patrons, patrons pay to be looked after. Either way, he did not come over, his cell phone was more important to him.
Owner says to ask for him next time. I find this to be very sad. It basically says that he is unable to solve the issue. But, it would not have helped this time since the only visible staff member was the one on the phone
However, I like the food enough that we will go back and ask for him, at least if he gives his...
Read moreIt feels very much like a pop up, we’ll see how it goes kind of vibe… which makes sense as Windsor has a lot of turn over especially for more exotic cuisine. I still miss the Hawaiian restaurant up the street. Betta Gumbo was awful with their mushy bagged gumbo and artificial drinks. I was really looking forward to seeing a fresh look in that space. Not one ounce of energy is given to atmosphere. Paint would be so easy, but if they cannot touch the murals for some reason they could just throw some curtains over them. At least take the instruments and Americana baking dishes off the wall. Everything but the entrees is penny pinched for sure. I was freezing in that warehouse style space. If they thrive I think they should do a lot of cozy booths. I don’t think they have a liquor license yet or they just don’t serve alcohol, which is fine. I would need other drink options outside of soft drinks. I would like some hot teas other than sweet chai, herbal for cold evenings. One thing I really wished they’d had was naan with nuts and dates, but I have yet to find that anywhere in Colorado. I hope eventually they can get real plates instead of plastic. So there are some boxes to tick but my husband and I agreed the food is great. I had the saag and look forward to my leftovers today, he had the chicken korma. We will likely stick to lunch or carry out because of atmosphere. One last thing, I would recommend they remove the dumplings from the appetizer menu because they are literally freezer pot stickers that feel out of place and a total rip off! I’ll never order...
Read moreOh, wow. We've been in CO for over 3 years, looking for "our spot" with no luck. Then this place opened up on Main St., just a few minutes away from our home! I haven't eaten this good at a restaurant in years.
We got the lamb Rogan Josh at medium heat and, at the recommendation of our server, the Chicken Momo in Jhol. With a side of 2 naan.
The lamb was so tender and juicy, and it's sauce a perfect blend of spices with a comfortable warmth on the tongue. Came with basmati rice. I know there is non spicy, mild, medium, medium+, hot, and "Indian Hot". If you're worried about it starting off too spicy for you at mild or medium, don't be.
The Chicken Momo in Jhol was so cozy, creamy, and also didn't lack in the right combination of spices.
And when they serve naan, it isn't just "2 slices", it's a LOT of naan that comes in a variety.
We were arguing over the very fully and interesting manu as to which we would try in our first visit. Splitting just the Rogan Josh would have been more than enough for us but I HAD to also try the Chicken Momo (took the rest home).
To finish it off was the fresh Mango Laasi, which can be spiked if you wanted. Everything was freshly made, but didn't too long. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere is comfortable and good for most occasions.
If you've been in the region and looking for a really good dinner, this is the place. Great for date nights, anniversaries, hankering for well rounded and nutritious food.
We'll be coming back frequently to get a taste of everything on the menu. 10/10, best restaurant...
