I am writing this review because I truly dislike people that are egocentric, entitled, and rude. This is the second time we go to this coffee shop, the first time was good, I have nothing to say about the first time we came here, my husband and I actually enjoyed being there to eat and the employee that attended us was super nice, that’s why we decided to go back there. This second experience was with the “manager” I put in quote because she is not the right person to be so called a manager or a leader. My husband decided to park on the handicap spot for a reason, he had an injury almost a month ago on his leg, which I will not get into a lot of detail because it’s not the “managers” business neither anyone’s beside a police or doctor, matter of fact he had to go to the hospital to get stitches, we were very worried about his leg being broken but thank god it’s not, and he is now walking without crutches. So the problem here is Claire as we know now that is the “manager” of this coffee shop came up to us very rude, she mentiones to claim very nicely but no, she asked us to move because the spot was for handicap loading zone, she didn’t asked “Hey are you here to order?” or “Are you guys here to pickup?” or “Are you guys here to stay?”. What was the reason to come up to us, have the audacity to just say “can you move”, she didn’t even ask are you handicapped by any chance?, can you walk? Just very egocentric and gave the vibe of entitled just for being manager, which to say we are the customers and we are people to so we are going to treat you how you treat us. I also want to mention we weren’t going to park there, he was just waiting for me to pick something from the menu while I was looking at it online. We didn’t say anything obviously she just wanted attention or the validation for us to say “ Yes, ma’am”, I don’t know what Claire was expecting to us to say, “sorry” no you are not the police or someone important and besides the energy and the way she approached us we were not going to give her the moral to say “sorry we’ll move, have a great day”. We did move, it wasn’t fair for us to do so, but we did it anyway. We are not fighters, we don’t like to argue with random people, we did buy food we didn’t leave, we still decided to buy food from there having many places with better costumer service, anyways, advice for you Claire I don’t know much about you, but I am going to say that you are arrogant, you are aggressive, and a hypocrite, you don’t deserve to be an a spot to be called the “manager”, you should work on how you approach yourself as, not only for you, but for your customers that have high expectations of the place you work at. We always go to the Shine Coffee shop, it’s a block away, I must say they have great food, great drinks, and people that actually respect you as a person. Claire as you as the manager, please don’t try to respond or write a long message justifying or making excuses for your actions “we are all adults here”. Hopefully you work on yourself or your boss hires someone that actually deserves the spot of a leader/manager and when a customer asks to talk to you have the value to talk not just tell your employee to say to write a Gmail to you. The photo that I will be uploading is one of her many arrogant responses.

We took my daughter here for a special treat. She ordered a Mint Chip ice cream, she has had this flavor from other places before, but she did not like this one. We took it back in to explain she did not like the flavor and if we could get a replacement, which we would have paid for a new one. The manager said no replacement but we can buy a new one. My husband ordered a new ice cream, chocolate with toppings on a cone. When he got it, it was in a cup and the cone was handed to him. We asked if they could put it ON the cone for walking and eating ease, they said they could not do that. I am not sure why. What irked me was that they threw away the other cone and did not refund it. My husband or myself could have enjoyed it if there was no replacements allowed. I went back in and asked for a refund for the $9 ice cream they just threw away instead of asking what we wanted done with it. The manager was rude, and the attitude she gave me was uncalled for. This was not our first bad experience. The workers make the line wait, whenever there is more than two people behind the counter. I will never be back

EDIT: In response to the manager, yes I did get a refund. That does not excuse the service and the attitude we got from your establishment. As this is not your first day, you should have planned accordingly for good weather, that was not my fault nor a reason for your staff to ignore people. We ASKED for a replacement, before she talked to you. When we asked she said yes we can get a replacement and took the cone and threw it away, THEN went to speak with you, then told us she cannot replace it. If your process is what you say it is then she should not have agreed to the replacement and taken the first one. The reason we will not be back is the attitude...

As I work down town I like this coffee shop and have spent significant dollars at it over the years. However sadly I will no longer be spending a nickle there until ownership gets off their mask police routine. I had COVID in Jan 2020 Before Covid was even a thing. I have antibodies AND I have been vaccinated. Given the now SEVERAL weeks old change in guidance by the CDC I was shocked when I was practically assailed verbally upon entering the establishment to get my mask on immediately by the staff. It's FAR past time to stop living in irrational fear and get back to some sense of normalcy. The ACTUAL science should the owner care to read it shows that asymptomatic spread is extremely rare and with now over 50% of the population fully vaccinated AND millions of people like me that had covid and recovered the transmission risk is exceedingly low to negligible. Not to mention the actual SCIENCE of several studies that have shown mask use in a non controlled non medical setting is nearly useless. In one Danish study at the height of the initial out break showed only a 0.3% difference in case positivity rates between the Control group that never wore masks and the study group that wore a fresh surgical mask anytime they left their homes AND regularly rotated to fresh masks at required intervals when out to control for mask cross contamination risk from mask touching. I was not even given an opportunity to state that I ALREADY HAD COVID and had been vaccinated. Enough is enough. This business has every right to be illogical and continue the fear mongering... I also have the right to take my money elsewhere. Apparently that is what the owner wants. I wish them luck with that..... they...
