During my visit, shopping for a suit. We were greeted when we entered the door, but it took at least 5 minutes for someone to ask us if we needed help. Note, there was only one other customer in the building with three associates working. Once I got sized from a salesman, I took a suit to the dressing room. The salesman provided dress shoes to ensure the size of the pants was correct/needs alterations. I asked the prices for alterations for the pants and arms, which the salesman provided. I responded, we will hold off with the alterations and may seek out our own person for the alterations, the salesman politely said that was fine and walked away with the provided dress shoes.
When I undressed out of the suit and headed my way to the front of the store to the check-out counter, with the suit in my hands, no one came up. I had to seek out the salesman speaking with another associate near the back of the store and interrupted their playful conversation to say Iâm ready to purchase the suit. The salesman looked surprised and said, Oh, I thought you weren't going to buy it and you were going to look somewhere else. I said, that was regarding alterations, not the suit itself. The salesman then proceeded to check me out.
At the end of the transaction, the salesman bagged the suit in a clear, thin plastic bag. I asked if they provided any travel bags with the suit. He said they normally do and started checking behind the counter for a handful of seconds and said they were all out, but I could purchase one if I liked. I just swiped my card for $250 for a nice suit for it to travel in a clear, thin plastic bag. If they normally provide a travel bag with a purchase of a suit, why wasnât I told they were out of travel bags at the beginning of the transaction? Why did I have to ask for it?
Overall, I am disappointed with the lack of service that was provided when I was ready to purchase the suit - standing at the front checkout counter, suit in hand with no associate nearby. This is because the salesman misinterpreted what I said, and he thought I wasnât going to purchase the suit. Therefore, he wrote me off and I wasnât worth any more of his time.
I write this review in hopes that this is noted by the store management, so other paying customers do not feel disrespected like I was. Also, I hope I can receive a travel bag for my suit...
Read moreI was best man in my son's wedding their were 5 tux rentals involved. Everyone had an issue. We picked up the tuxes on Tuesday and returned on Wednesday to try on again, so they could get all the issues resolved. Wrong size jackets, shirts and shoes. Everyone had an issue, all of us being measured at the same location the Winston-Salem store. They called the manager in Wednesday night to make sure all of our needs were going to be met. The wedding was in the early evening on Thursday. We spent 1 1/2 hours in the store on Wednesday night, after all of us being previously measured? The manager said the truck Fed EX would be there at 10:30 am on Thursday. I let her know I would be there at 11:00 am to pick everything up. I came in and there were 2 managers currently at the store and neither of them were appraised of the situation and the jacket I left to have the sleeves altered on Wednesday had not been touched. Nothing for our wedding came in on the FedEx truck, but was delayed and put on the Men's Wearhouse truck instead, which arrived to late for the wedding. I insisted that we all had to have something to wear for the wedding and began giving alternatives, just so we would have something. They altered the kids try on jacket to fit my grandson, which did not match the grooms men. Then they found a larger in store new jacket that was larger than the grooms man and reconstructed it to fit him. All and all everyone did have something to wear, even though some of it was not the brides choice. The one manager was apologetic I think his name was Tony when I returned the tuxes admitting that every aspect of this order had been screwed up. I spent 2 1/2 hours at Men's Wearhouse Winston-Salem on the wedding day when I should have been with my son. I do not normally do reviews and he did refund 1/2 of the cost, which I let him know I felt it should all be returned. He said that would have to be handled through corporate. I guess managers are not empowered by Men's Wearhouse to do full customer service as needed. This place is a mess! Either no follow through and bad training or some nice people in a bad system looks like...
Read moreGot me a suit from this location right outta college. HUGE waste. I dropped over $600 on my suit at this place- had my suit tailored and everything. I was new to the suit game and was like a deer in the headlights with everything that my salesman told me (just pretty much took in any information he told me as truth- boy was I wrong). I got the suit, tried it on at Mens Warehouse but it looked WAY too big and baggy for me but unfortunately I went ahead and bought it because the salesman and tailor/size-person were saying it looked REALLY great... of course, right? Soooo, I did some shopping online and figured out... my build is definitely a slim-fit, especially for my body type... 5'11'' 145 lbs... But they tailored me for a cheap loose/baggy/ relaxed fit suit that simply made me look like I was wearing my Dad's oversized suit for a funeral. I even went back in to ask if they could change the way it looked but I think they were driven more by money than by customer satisfaction because they just kept telling that suit was my right fit and there was nothing else they could do. (Off topic: Don't let them tell you that you can put black shoeshine on a black sock and use it to shine shoes and that it comes off in the washer- it does come off but STAINS THE WASHER with a dark residue that I had to use GOJO mechanics soap to remove. Really!?!?!) These associates don't know anything about suites (or shoeshine for that matter), they just want the sale... I have voweled to NEVER use Mens Warehouse again. Guess what⌠I DIDNâT like the way that I looked⌠guarantee THAT. Whatâs funny is that I never got a job offer or any compliments with the suit I got from Mens Warehouse (except from the salesman/ tailor) - So, I decided to buy a Haggar slim fit suit from Kohls for my next interview... not only did I pay less than $180 dollars and not only did I get compliments on the suit AT THE INTERVIEW... but got the job. Boom. Thanks Kohls... Mens Warehouse is garbage. Avoid at all...
