On the 19th of August (2023) my 5 yr old grandson was spending the weekend with me, he started feeling bad with a sore throat and thru out the day I tried various things for him to eat, jello things along those lines..I wasn’t having much success till he asked me if he could have a milkshake from Chick-fil-A, thinking it would feel good going down..I live maybe 3 miles if that from this location..as I was parking an employee put up the cones to stop the drive thru..I looked at the time and it was exactly 9.. I told my grandson let’s see if we could get in and order the shake..we walked in the door and according to the time it was 9:01..I asked the young man that had walked in right before us ( he was the one that had placed the cones) if it was possible to get a shake, he immediately said no…I explained the situation to him and asked plz..by this time the guy that was (I’m assuming an assistant manager cause of the white shirt) asked what was going on.. the employee told him… the (manager) also gave a no reply.. I pleaded with him to plz allow me to buy a milkshake explaining to him that this is where my grandson asked for one, adding about his sore throat..I’m not asking for food, plz just a milkshake..he again said no..there was about 6 cars that was in line at the drive thru, he stated to me if my grandson got a milkshake there wouldn’t be enough to serve the drive thru..as my grandson was getting upset, I said to the acting manager, “ and this is supposed to be a Christian ran establishment”?…I’m just guessing but there’s no way all cars or even half of them was going to cause a milkshake shortage..ok I know some ppl are going to say why not just go somewhere else, which we ended up doing..but have you never been sick and you think of things that you might think would be nice to have..he wanted a Chick-fil-A milkshake, I walked out, on the way to the car my grandson was nearly in tears..he said to me, “Nana I thought big ppl helped little ppl especially if they’re sick”..I had no reply for him other than, babe no all big ppl..I drove to the McDonalds on the other side of the parking lot..I’m sorry but I have worked in the restaurant industry off and on for years…I’m just saying if I’d been the management and in same situation ..I’d got a small cup and just gave him some..maybe I should mention this asst. manager looked to be in his late 20’s..obviously not a parent..more like a Tin Man with no heart…needless to say I’ll never give that particular Chick-fil-A any...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite restaurants within 30 miles of where I live at, the staff is always super friendly, I have yet to meet one person that I have an issue with at almost any Chick-fil-A that I've ever been to. If you have a gluten allergy like I do, then you'll have to get the number 5 on the menu and asked for a gluten-free bun which is a dollar 15 more however, if your allergies are severe or moderate it's well worth paying a little extra to not have the reactions.
The one closest to Walmart in Stanleyville, does not ask if you want the cut to change gloves the one on Knollwood Street actually does but you can ask the staff to get the cook to change gloves if it's severe. every restaurant that I've been to within 30 miles of where I live locally in King North Carolina, is always clean the bathrooms are always clean and it's almost always the same experience when you go into any of them which is very unique for a fast food restaurant.
The only drawback that I have the Chick-fil-A, is that when I have to pay for the gluten free bun, the one on Knollwood Street will actually take off the multigrain bun which is only like 15 to $0. 30 however the other ones do not take off that charge but I'm not sure why. This is also a fast food chain that I completely respect the owners religious wishes and closing on Sundays. I wish more businesses...
Read moreMy daughter did a mobile app order and they left out her granola parfait. I called the “store” number only to be sent to their CFA Cares corporate number. I told the lady what happened and she said she would send a report to that particular store and I should be able to pick it up later that afternoon. Well, guess what? Unless Miss Candy is there to do her job, you aren’t getting your food and the the manager, Grant T. definitely DOES NOT care. It’s not our fault Miss Candy wasn’t there to check reports but they sure took my money and my daughter sure doesn’t have her CFA parfait. You can tell by my points that I’m a frequent flyer but if all they can tell me is I have to wait for Miss Candy to come back to work, then this particular store does not need any future business from me. There are other stores close by with different owners that actually care about their customers. The store on Peter’s Creek forgot part of my order a while back and they gave it to me the same night with a sincere apology, no questions and no bs required. So, so disappointed. Especially when a manager tells you he’s not able to step in and do another employees job just because she isn’t there. CFA Corporate will be hearing from me again, real soon. This experience was...
