The Jessie Brock center is very appealing to the eye for events however, I'm all about customer service. There is a woman who works for the community center by the name of Camilla, she almost ruined the entire event for my family. In February, my mother celebrated her 60th birthday at the venue. Thanks to our family and friends it was an awesome party however, what they didn't know was all of the BS we had to endure for them to have an awesome night. Camilla specifically told us the date was available so my mother told her we would be there within an hour to reserve the hall. When we went there with $700 cash in hand we were told by Camilla, "Ooops we're holding the date for someone else, they have until tomorrow to book the place." My mother burst into tears and the rest of us just prayed that it would be available. The next day my sister met with Camilla, she gives her the cash and signs a contract to include a projector. A few days before the party my sister meets with Camilla again to finalize plans and to make another payment of $100 to add an extra hour to the party, so that we could set up at 5 PM. Day of the party; No one is there to open the doors for us to set up until after 5:30, the party starts at 6! The person that was there (she was very nice, helpful, and apologetic) informed us that Camilla didn't put the projector in the plans but she believed we paid for it and had her guy come set it up for us. Another lady, I believe her name is Sabrina came and helped us set up she was awesome. The following Friday we contacted Camilla to ask for a refund on the $100 we paid for the doors to be open at 5 PM, she gave every excuse in the book to finally say she'd give us $50 back. She was unapologetic and we were extremely disappointed in her services. *The venue was very nice but the service turned us off. Had we spoken to someone else other than Camilla this would have been a 5...
Read moreWe, as a family really like this center. My daughters have attended art classes and dance classes. I have done belly dancing, Zumba and yoga here. The facility is clean and well cared for. It is an older building, but they do a good job keeping it up. I like the staff that work here, they are very kind. I was invited to do a presentation for the Active 50+ group and it was an incredible experience. The staff and attendees were so wonderful. I hope that they enjoyed the time as much as I did. Thank you City of Winter Garden. We call this...
