I would just like to say a few things to South Beach about the Winter Garden location. I have been a customer of South Beach for just about the past year. I work in the Winter Garden village currently, and it is very convenient to stop in and tan right after work. I also have the option to tan right next to my house, however I continue to choose South Beach. I have been a Store Manager in both big box and small box retailers, as well as a District Manager, during the course of my career. I know firsthand people are quick to complain about the bad... but don't really recognize the good.
With that being said, I would like to recognize one of the ladies in this location. Jennifer has been the driving force behind my loyalty to South Beach. Whenever I walk in, she has a big smile and greets me by name... which I am sure she has many customers, so that makes me very feel special. She asks me how my day is going, and I feel like she genuinely cares. I am sure South Beach wants their employees selling items in addition to the tanning services... the way she up-sells is a way that is personalized to me. I don't feel pressured to buy, it is more like she is a friend trying to help me... which that makes me want to buy from her even more than if she were a pushy sales person. She asks questions to what I am looking for, and recommends products that fit my specific needs. I started off with the basic monthly package as well, and would still be at that tier if it wasn't for her recommendation of going to a level 3 package. I am so much happier with my tan now! I hope you give recognition to your star employees, because this one sure as heck deserves it. Thank you South Beach for training your employees on understanding exactly what a customer is...

I decided to change it up and try the dark option, which I hadnāt done in probably a decade. The result was not more than a light spray tan and definitely not even close to a medium spray tan. I called the next morning and spoke to the manager of this corporate store, Cat. While she was patient and maintained her composure, her end offer was, āWe can give you another tan for $10, the same price you originally paid for the spray tan. Otherwise, youāll have to come back into the store so I can evaluate and continue this discussion. At this point it seems like all you want is just another free tan.ā All in all itās fair to say I paid $15 dollars for this spray tan and Cat was only willing to ask me to pay another $15 if I wanted to come in and do another spray tan. It takes a full hour of my time to drive to the store, do the business dance, and drive home. I have a full Saturday (which I am only home 12 days month, so weekends are highly valuable to me) of activities planned with my family and friends that I will not/cannot invest another hour into this debacle. Regardless of purchasing the spray tans at a discounted rate and the fact it was just a $5 up charge to do the dark - that does not excuse a business from providing adequate service to customers. Iām already very particular who I give my business to (aka: my hard earned money) and at this point, if I ever do return to this store or even this company, it will be YEARS as I am stunned by the blatant disregard for customer...

My friend and I do it because we want to try it out before actually committing to a membership. I try filling out the form and I get an email that says ā10% off your next purchase ā I call the salon and the front desk girl says thereās nothing she can do, she canāt honor the offer without seeing the email. I explain that the website is wrong and she continues to say that thereās nothing she can do. I then go to the salon with my friend hoping if we actually show both of our emails saying the same thing, they will honor the offer thatās on THEIR website. Unfortunately the front desk girls are extremely unbothered, repeat the same thing and then proceed to say that they actually believe the offer is not valid anymore but it hasnāt been removed from the webite and that corporate handles thatā¦. They were both extremely unhelpful, very poor customer service and sales skills because they didnāt eveh offer my friend and I to PURCHASE a session. They were not wanting to do their jobsā¦. If this offer is not valid anymore, ācorporate ā needs to take it down. Itās misleading and feels...
